How Do I Get My Cashback?

Recently did a purchase on groupon which had cash back of 10%, now 10 days later I do not see the cash back.

Reading back on the FAQ, it says that they well not honour any cashbacks if you use a coupon or voucher deals not listed on their website.

So in essence you might be thinking your getting a good deal with cashback and using the coupon but in the end you don't get the cashback.

Still gonna wait until 30 days and try to open am enquiry into my cashback. Correct me if I am wrong, thanks.

Update: Talked to staff from cashrewards and submited an enquiry. Changed title off thread to a more appropriate setting.

  • Did you try putting in an enquiry? Do it now rather than later.

    *you're

Having to read the fine print is not a scam.

You don't get nothing, you got what the coupon gave you.

No it's not a scam. Tracking can be hit and miss. It can also be affected by browser plugins such as ad-blockers.

Contact CR, perhaps through a rep such as tightarse and they'll sort something out for you.

I had A deal once upon a time with Cashrewards for my purchase from Woolworths. They did honour the return of cash . But found their process was not straightforward.Thereafter I am no longer interested in their deals; too much of hassles.

Not a scam, that's a strong word. Like most companies, they try to out-smart you with clever marketing. Which is often successful IMO because they always have deceptive multiple discount rates for the popular sites like Catch or whatever e.g. "Up to 15% off". But in the detail it's 15% off 1 particular item like membership renewal, and 1% off everything else. Just have to read the fine print. They prey on keen OzBargainers like yourself who are looking for the discounts and often don't read the detail after the headline. The amount of deals posted on OzB by their rep TA highlights that OzB must be a huge source of income for them.

I got massive negs a few months ago for complaining about their last minute type deals that last for 1 hour only and they only give 1 hour notice. This is seriously annoying and erodes any good will they had with me, but I'm clearly in the minority :)

    • "Up to 15% off". But in the detail it's 15% off 1 particular item like membership renewal, and 1% off everything else

Checked Shopback for shopping at Amazon yesterday and its the same there
Cashack % varies depending on item category and there are 10+ categories there

      • Yeah pretty common.

  • would be interesting to know what % of revenues from both CR and SB are earned by but then not attributed to any clients.

My lifetime rewards have nearly hit $10k, if it's a scam, it's one that pays well :D

Never buy anything because of the cash rewards, find a good deal, if you can get cash rewards on top then it's a bonus.

    • 2nd this. Not on the $10k rewards though LOLLLL But I've got hundreds of dollars back yes.

Hi MrMedoMan. Very strong words in the subject line, and I can assure you we're not a scam. Please PM me the details and I'll look into this for you. Thank you.

That might be true, but its my first time using cashrewards and its not a pleasent one, tried finding a way to do an enquiry via the app and it was very very hard to find [coudn't find it], compared to "shopback"[the vpn deal thats out today] app which have a clear button saying "Report missing cashback" which feals more secure. I'll pm you the details as i don't really know how to find the enquiry on the website either.

There's a 'Send a Claim' button next to the click you made to Groupon in your click history. The helpdesk and enquiry forms are here. Anyway, please PM me.

        • Ok thank you, i did an enquiry andrecieved email confirmation that my enquiry has been sent.

  • Scam is a harsh word, I have no issue with both CR & SB. Follow their TCs & generally you should be fine

Attention OZB posters. Scam does not mean "less valuable than I hoped", scam means dishonest/illegal/fraudulent activity designed to mislead and rip off.

If you use Cashrewards or Shopback as a nice little bonus when you have found the best deal, you will never feel 'scammed'.

    • I agree, sorry for miss use of the word.

If you agree, please edit the title to something more appropriate. Thank you.

Not a scam but will not always credit cashback when due. Found that only a few times cashback hasn't work even when using all same process and advice they give every time:

    • Having opened other web pages (including search sites, social media, other store sites) or web browsers whilst visiting the store;
    • Clicking through to another page from a banner or ad on the store's webpage whilst shopping;
    • Adblock/Antivirus/cleanup application tasks may remove tracking cookies (which are required to track transactions).
    • Use of a coupon code not listed on Cashrewards

I've found CashReward's customer service to be really good and accommodating.

I did have an issue with one purchase and they sorted it out for me.

I tend to use Cash Rewards rather than the competitor purely because of this. If companies look after me, i look after them.

I've only ever had one issue with CR and it was dealt with very quickly and professionally when I raised it directly with the support people. It remains my preferred cashback site.

  • I’ve had so many issues with CR I just gave up submitting enquiries. I look back at my amazon purchases lately and 1 in 23 are correct in the last 2 months and so many missing. Too unreliable to consider items as a bargain, more a free lotto ticket to win maybe a few cents.

From first hand experience and the many threads and complaints about CR not working and the excuses about adblocker etc I certainly wouldn’t be recommending any merchant to partner with CR just to drive more sales in its current format. Good idea, just a shit implementation, but I don’t know how it could be done better so it is what it is.
