Samsung A20s will be a better deal at this price point, and available from both Telstra and Vodafone.

  • dont buy optus locked phones. even if you unlock it, it wont work for 3G(voice calls) on voda or telstra because they lock the 850mhz band

    • Is it locked at 850mhz before unlocking

      • +1

no before its unlocked you can even use telstra or voda sim. after its unlocked, the phone has the firmware disable the 850mhz band which is what telstra use for 3g voice. So essentially u would only have 4g if you use telstra or voda after unlocking it.

"no before its unlocked you can even use telstra or voda sim"
Thats a little hard to follow.
If we can use other sims then it not unlocked right?

            @King Tightarse: typo… "can't"

            • +2

@Jaduqimon: Pretty significant typo and your post is still confusing. Maybe just stick with ‘they disable the 850 band’ ?

  • Any good deal going on for A20 unlocked AU stock?

    • There aren’t any good deals on unlocked but there is one for Telstra

      • +1

Thanks SolidestVIDU. I know the one for Telsta $189 but looking for one which works with Aldi Mobile Sim.

  • Zzz… Can get better for cheaper if you don't mind genuine yum cha

  • AU warranty is an issue for that.

    • I assume you are talking to me. If you research and grab the right product it's a non-issue. By the time shit starts breaking it's well past upgrade time (where it's cost-effective) anyway

LeTV is my 'go to'. The phones that they pump out for the price is insane. They have a few models but with so many different options/bands. Means that since they make so many actual phones they've gotten insanely good and cost per unit to make is very low.

Really don't hear much in regards to faulty units. That being said, good QA and testing is what sorts a good phone company from a bad one.

I think the chinaphone to get atm is the umidigi A5 Pro from aliexpress. $140 AUD shipped.

        • I have had my eye on Umidigi now for a while. They seemed too good to be true some time ago and going by much bad

feedback here they were. But lately they seem to have lifted their game, so could be a contender for my next new phone

within next year or so. Love the fact they include B28 and some now even have dual sim + sd slot like the more expensive

          Moto G linup.
