Mountain Designs $20 off (Min $20 Spend) for Alliance Club Members + Shipping

170
GIFT20

$20 off anything with $20 min spend. Shipping around $10.

Could spend it on travel accessories, locks, socks… or maybe something you actually need. I'll be honest, I was struggling to find something myself so maybe commenters can make some suggestions! :)

  • can we c&c to avoid shipping?

    • Sadly, no, you can't. Mountain Designs went into receivership last year and closed all their stores. They've come back as online-only this time around with the promise they're working on building physical stores. I used to buy from them when they had stores and found all the gear to be generally very good (as a matter of fact, I'm wearing some of their socks right now). Pricewise they're about the same as Kathmandu at both normal retail and sale time.

      • +1 for recommending MD's. They do (or at least did) have good equipment and clothing. Hope they don't lose that heritage and commitment in the relaunch. BUT WHY would they commit to opening stores again. What a distraction. Though, as I understand they were bought by the Spotlight group who own a sh!# tonne of retail property and probably can't find any other unsuspecting fool around who would lease retail space from them in the current market conditions…

I would actually rate mountain designs over Kathmandu stuff any day of the week - MD has a bunch of stuff from established outdoor brands whereas Kathmandu stuff is really made for the urban warrior. MD just couldn't compete in the marketing space.

        • I'd definitely agree with that, but only based on the quality of their previous entity's products.. still to be proven that the new owners can invest sufficiently in product development and quality.. there's a good chance they'll use the good brand but go cheap and nasty… But will keep an open mind..

      • I've using MD daypack for past 5 years and still going strong with abuse of wind, rain and snow. I also have the Softshell and it still keep me warm, despite the color already faded

  • I grabbed some travel adapters for some trips coming up! Thanks OP
