  Struggling to decide between the R7 and R8….even after viewing them side-by-side instore.

  $2276 delivered for the R7 or $2740 delivered for the R8. $220 for shipping puts a bit of a dampener on the deal though!

      Yeah but I always feel the displays are not set up and calibrated correctly so it’s not a true representation of what you may experience in your home.

    Not even close. Samsung stripped the RU8000 of all the things that made the NU8000 probably the best mid range TV out there. Dropped from 1100 to 330 nits brightness, took away local dimming and colour gamut is a bit less. The back and stand is cheaper and looks like entry level. Think the only thing that was improved on is the lag which is about 5ms better, so it's pointless. They did that with all their TV's this year, rather get 2018 TV's than the crap they brought out for 2019. The RU8000, along with all Samsung TV's up to Q7 are entry level TV's with almost identical specs. Seriously a disgrace from them this year
