Just keeps on getting cheaper and cheaper…

    ACTIVATE BEFORE APRIL 2021

I am currently on this plan which I paid $150 for a couple months ago.

I can buy this and save it for later?

    • +6

Sure, as long as you do what you quoted.

      • How this does work if you’re already on boost? Do you have to port out and then port back in?

        • +3

I'm pretty sure you can just recharge using the redemption code included in one of these kits.

          • @magic8ballgag: is that boost only thing

i have a telstra prepaid but cant find discounted recharge vouchers only new telstra sim kits on discount, can you do the same thing with telstra

  • +1

Is this 80gb total? Or 80gb for each month? I'm guessing total but reading through the description on ebay it isnt clear.

    • +5

      80GB over 12 months.

      • Cool, gotcha. Thanks!

    • Total you can use it all in one week if you wish

  • Can I port my existing number on this Plan

    • yes.

    • +1

if you're porting in from Telstra there's a special procedure. and you cant use the starter kits available from supermarkets. They send you a SIM for free when you call them up.

      • I am currently on Vodafone…Is it easy to port to Boost package

        • +1

It would be the normal porting process I guess which I've done quite a few times between other providers (not to Boost though), only takes a couple of hours and you're good to go!

      • +1

Just did this, and it was an absolute pain the arse.

        • I am on a 12 months sim only contract with voda, anyway I can port while getting away those hefty fees?

          • @anonymous58008: If you port while on a contract, Voda will send you your final bill with the remainder of the total minimum fee for the contract + exit fee.

So I don't think so, the contract you signed has to be honoured.

        • So,…what happened?

      • Do you knkw about porting over from Belong

    • I am thinking of porting an existing Telstra post paid to this number - so I buy this plan from eBay first and then call Boost to get a blank SIM sent and then they do the magic thereafter? Did i get this right?

      • +1

Yes, but you have to contact Telstra and tell them to convert you to prepaid. But wait until you have the Boost SIM and your current Telstra plan runs out. Once Telstra switches you to prepaid - your phone will still operate (no data, unfortunately) - you phone Boost again and tell them you’re good to go and they will switch you over. Telstra owns Boost so it’s all fairly seamless.

  • Didn't work. Do i need to sign up to Ebay plus first? Is there a free trial?

  • Nice one, cheers

    Glad I got in early!

  • +1

6 left. Oops now 5 left.
    Thanks OP :)

    (25 seconds later all gone)

  • Does this give you access to AFL or free wifi etc?

    • +8

Yes and a free house and a Tesla too

    • Yes. AFL/NRL and Netball too I think. Doesn't consume any of your quota.

    • Free Live Pass for AFL, AFLW, NRL, Netball and My Football (soccer) apps. It isn't supposed to but the apps can't tell the difference between Boost and Telstra. I don't think it's unmetered, though, but I've only ever streamed over Wi-Fi. I haven't tried, but others have commented that there's no access to Telstra Air.

  • Is there any advice regarding rationing the data monthly? This plan is good for kids but mine would smash all the data in a month!

    • +3

Android has inbuilt data limit features.

      • Cheers thanks, does iOS have anything?

        • +2

No nothing you can do with ios. Ultill you break the ios jail.

        • There are apps you can check the usage, don’t know anything limited features

    • Tell them you won't pay for a recharge until August 2020.

  • +1

Smart cookies whoever got three of them for about $118 each.

    • How did that work?

      • Bulk buy discount.

  • Code doesn't work.

  • +3

This item is out of stock.

  • +1

Always the way I only just got the $140 Coles deal

    • +2

Unlucky mate, that $12.5 could have bought you a kebab.

      • And drink ;)

  • +8

If you port out from TPG they'll charge you an $11 port out fee. I got my money back when I took TPG to TIO.

    • -3

      over $11?

      • +11

        It's the principle.

TPG also did this with their phone add-on's that were bundled with their ADSL2 plans (and probably still do). They automatically made you always have $20 of phone credit, even if you didn't use it, and didn't give it back when you left.

        • +7

The sneaky bast**d refuses to give the money back to you unless you complain to TIO

  • missed it…. :(

  • +6

I swear whenever I don't check Ozbargain for 30 minutes, I always miss these deals!!! :(

  • What… Sold out…

ABOUT THE BOOST $150 12 MONTH EXPIRY PLAN:
UNLIMITED INTERNATIONAL STANDARD CALLS & TEXT TO 25 SELECTED DESTINATIONS: CHINA, GERMANY, HONG KONG, SOUTH AFRICA, TAIWAN,…

Wow… Chinese government will be suing complaining to boost over the naming of Taiwan and Hong Kong….. They done to Qantas.

    • +4

Why? It says "destinations" not "countries".

    • +2

No need they are like separate countries and freedom.

    • You realise Taiwan and Hong Kong have different visa requirements than Chinese through the Department of Home Affairs … and China hasnt made an issue of it.

Even the dropdown menus on the DHA website lists each as a different country.

      • Look at your government’s opinion about Taiwan and see if it’s a country

    • United Kingdom probably hates that Ireland is listed separately too.

      • +1

Not really, The Republic of Ireland is nothing to do with the UK.

  • Dam missed out!

  • Missed it.
Was looking for this for a while

  • Damn missed it again.

  • +3

I got mine in the Coles half-price deal and I've been really happy. Transferred over from Kogan Mobile and its been all good so far.
Not only has it been smooth sailing I discovered that while I couldn't send texts I still received texts when I was in Indonesia on my Boost sim with Australian number!
    Very cool.

  • Dam missed out. MY optus contract just ended =(

  • Out of stock :(

  • can you receive SMS when you go oversea, just for banking confirmation number?

    thanks

    • +2

      Yes you can
