Awning Shade - 2.5x2.0m $49 + $14.95 Delivery (No Pickup) @ Supercheap Auto

120

Seems like a cracking price to me. I don't have a use for it, I have a Kings one, and this is cheaper than that one was.. And everyone knows that Kings is cheap (whether that's good or bad is debatable).

I managed to get all the way to the checkout but didn't order it, and there was no local stock in a store close to me.

For comparison you can get the Kings one for $119 delivered (today) or BCF have a similar one in stock for $89 if you're a member.

Note: It's 2m long and it pulls out 2.5m from the car, I don't know why the mods decided to change the title to the other way around.

Great deal, half the price of the Kingsawning. As for quality its probably the same thing.

Title needs to be updated to remove free C&C as there appears to be no stock anywhere significant

  • No stock anywhere in the NSW stores that I can find.

Postage can be had for $14.95. Will pass.

  • Damn cheap even with delivery.

  • Can't camp without one these days !

  • Postage is $25 for me (mid north coast)

    • $79.95 here for me in WA mate.

  • I have a Rydge Ryder (supercheap brand) awning and can only say STAY AWAY. Put an extra 30-50 bucks into a Kings or anything else. The straps to hold the awning inside the bag deteriorated in under a year,, and hte zip corroded and is now useless after 2 years. Cheap shit.

Postage seems to be $10.50 on there ebay store if that helps anyone.

  • I'm pretty sure these are 2.5m along the vehicle edge not the pull out distance.

The arms to support the pull out distance are not telescopic as opposed to the arms that are used to raise / stabalise the unit. You will see in the photos the the arms are 2m long.

    Comment section:

    Great Awning but wrong picture!
This is a great awning and at a fantastic price! Click & collect in store is a great way to do things on the website as we live in Far North Queensland so freight charges can be high. The one thing that I was expecting was that as a 2.5 m x 2 m awning I thought it would be 2 m along the vehicle and pull out 2.5 m as is clearly the case in the photo that is used for advertising this awning - not the other way around as is the reality!. But I have made it fit and it works well. This type of awning is better suited to a wagon not a ute or tray back type vehicle which I have.

    • Of these are 2.5 m along the car and pull out 2m, I'd definitely get one.
But I don't think it is.

      • First photo (green AWD) is a photo of one that is 2m long and 2.5m wide. The rest of the photos (the red car) show the actual unit, which is 2.5m long and pulls out 2m.

Photo 7 shows it is a 2.5m long x 2.0m wide awning. Math says it can't be 2.0m long and 2.5m wide and have this construct. The telescopic rods are a single rod unit with a single extendable baton.

Presuming it is 2.0m long at the car side, the telescopic arms have a maximum distance of around 90cm. Each arm when fully retracted cover only 50% of 2m, making them max 1m long, 1.9m once deployed.

The arms at full retraction would need to be at least 75% of the width of the 2.0m awning or around 1.3m in order to reach a 2.5m telescopic extension, the arms would be overlapping in photo 6 and 7.

The reviews seem to indicate its 2.5m long along body and 2.0m pull out.

  • Yep, I have the XTM (BCF) one and it's too long coming out from the car at 2.5m.
Can't get it tight with the poles, as there's not really enough overlap of the poles…
2m long out from car would be better. I cut mine down to 2m out from car.
It's either all our or all in, not half out (if that make sense)

  • OP
Are you sure it's 2.0m along car and 2.5 out from car?
The BCF XTM ones are listed as 2.0 x 2.5
And these are 2.0 along car and 2.5 out from car. I have the XTM one off my old ute and just bought this one as it really looks like it's 2.5 along car and 2.0 or from car.
    Reviews mention 3 brackets.

The description clearly says 2.5 long (along car) 2m wide (out from car)

If it's not that sizing, I'll do an Ebay dispute, as wrong description.

      • Totally makes sense now.
$55.95 delivered via eBay link.($6.85 delivery.

($75 freight via SCA website direct)

Now looking for a room to fit, hit seems they only 2.0x2.5 or 2.5x2.5 in the rooms

  • Just got email today, they've cancelled the order and issued refund on the 2.5m awning.
