i get asked to pay $49 now, as i have used the free trial. For some strange reason i still get free post and get to use the plus discounts, just not the double flybuys.
Same here. I can still get free shipping & the discounts for some reason, even though my Plus membership just ended early August.
I dont think I received the offer, likely because I was still on the 3 month trial version, due to expire in November.
After seeing this post, I've cancelled completely (still get the benefits until my November expiry).
Hopeing at some stage I get the $1 one year trial. If not now, maybe closer to my expiry date. You win this round eBay, but I'll be back hahah.

Strange for me. If I log into my eBay account it offers me to start a free 30-day trial even though I signed up for the free trial before. But if i click from the email offer it brings me to the $1 (1 year) deal and asks me to add a payment method.

I just get to the PayPal screen "Please link a credit or debit card to complete your purchase", and it won't go any further. Same on mobile and desktop.
I obviously already have a credit card in PayPal, so I don't know why it's not finding that. Eventually just entered the credit card into eBay directly.

No email but it says this when I go the ebay Plus sign up screen:

I normally just create new accounts for the eBay trial. I'll forgo that for a year for $1 lol.
edit: and cancelled now so I dont forget and get billed $49 next year.
You should not cancel till 1-2 weeks before your 12 months ends, then they send you a $20 voucher.

Update to cancelling the $1 membership straight away - DON'T! Well not 'straight away' (thanks FLICKIT) If you have cancelled it check your eBay+ account as mine was cancelled.
I did get the $1 offer again though - will make a few alarm reminders to ensure I cancel the membership well before the renewal date.

No email but the offer was there on the ebay plus page. I am a bit annoyed because I signed to up ebay plus only 3 weeks ago on another account after a 3 month trial with the $20 gift card offer. I pontificated for a while whether it was worth it but decided to give it a go - I had got value from the trial but it is so difficult to know whether future spending will take advantage of ebay plus!
Now it is only $1 instead of the $29 I effectively spent!!

I signed up for $1 and cancelled membership. Refreshed the page and it still showed the expiry as August 2020. However 5 minutes later I recieved an email from ebay saying the subscription has been cancelled.
So I refreshed the page and purchased for $1 for the year again without problem…this time I won't be so quick to cancel membership haha, I will wait a few months to be safe.

I've just gone through this also, my old subscription expired on the 8th of Aug, I got the email for $1 renewal earlier today…
After renewing for $1 I cancelled straight away, they hadn't processed the payment yet, so when they did it was denied… I had to go through and join for $1 again, it was about 15 mins before the payment was processed the second time, and it all went through ok… I might wait a day or two before cancelling it again..
Same with me, changed payment method so will wait and see.
I used paypal both times… I'm confident it was denied the first time because I cancelled the membership before the payment was processed, so that blocked the payment… So it seems wise to wait till the paypal payment goes through before cancelling…
damn and i thought i could do a quick cancel and save $1

Wait until the payment gets processed first and you get the paypal email, about 15 mins… If you cancel before the payment is processed the payment will be denied…
