  • I wouldn't bother, they are terribly designed, light weight flexible plastic rubbish. You try and vacuum your stairs with one of these so you park it at the top of the stairs then pull out the hose, the hose has some resistance so you have to tug it around to get where you want, you don't have to stretch the hose far (nowhere near its full extention) before it pulls the vacuum over, possibly on your head and down the stairs, then you think 'ok I will go up the stairs instead' but still the hose springs back so much that you tug the vac all over. Then you go 'ok screw the hose lets use it the traditional way' and lift the vac so you can hoover with the main head but you lift by the biggest silver handle as is intuitive and the body flexes so much that the tiny clips on the dust catching cylinder unclip and the cylinder falls to the ground. So after faffing around you thwn find that you can only lift the vacuum when it is in the upright position, the upright position that can be a pain to get to as it just stays there by pressure (not latched with a release) over time that function fails and its precarious to sit right. You also can find it failing apart when you lift it over carpet edge strips between room using the large silver handle. The design has some good ideas they just couldn't get them all to work well. I'd go for a miele with a traditional style unit, they are powerful and simple to use, less to go wrong. If I could find a decent one I would go for a backpack vac, much easier to use than a standard vac.

  • Really? D: Myer has a 60 day return policy so if it is crap I'll return it.

When googling vacuums, Miele didn't pop up (at least in the bagless type) and it seems like only the US love their vacuums enough to do proper reviews. I wanted to get Shark Apex az1002 but it isn't sold in Aus, and the Dyson was the next best thing according to those reviews.

    • I like mine well enough for doing the floors, but the hose is definitely an afterthought.

  • Just wondering if I'm missing something here. The listed price is $799 on eBay and with 20% off it comes down to $639.20.
Has there been some price jacking since the promo rolled out on the item or there is a further discount that needs to be applied?
    Thanks
