Smell and Longevity compared to Myer and Chemist Warehouse.

I don’t know where chemist warehouse sources scents, but it would be very surprising if they were counterfeit. More likely grey market from Asia or similar.
Also check they are the same product, as minor variations can be huge price differences (e.g. parfum vs eau).

        • I have checked both are same , but still there is a large variation in the price.

@TARA786: Check manufacture/best by dates. Perfumes do lose accent after time.

Same product usually, but one pays someone to stand in one spot all day long and the other is a low cost retailer

        • Can i opt for Chemist warehouse ?

      • Don't buy the ones from CW that sit in the window facing the sun all day long.

      • I have found silage and longevity almost non-existent on the Chemist Warehouse stock. There were rumours here that the cheaply priced stock you see at chemists etc are from overseas that is several years old hence to lack of silage and longevity.

  • Chemist Warehouse direct imports
    Myer buys from Australian Suppliers.
Myer also has much higher rent… so rips people off usually

  • The same parfume smells different at the two main chemists in my town Cincotta and Chemist Warehouse. Simple test - go into chemist warehouse, spray the tester in your wrist and see how strong the smell is after 30 minutes. That explains why chemist warehouse is half the price.

  • Recently bought a perfume from C&C, but after I found the last 4 digit of the batch number of it was removed from the packaging and bottle itself. When asked to the customer service they denied to provide the information and ask me to go to the store from where I collected it. Doubt it is grey market stock so they don’t want any one from the supply chain to the end customer to track the package. The perfume smells great though, not sure about the longevity I haven’t tried it before.

      Thanks for your comment 👍🏻

  • Perhaps CW is selling counterfeit products.

Remember even Target was fooled into buying counterfeit products and repeatedly denied it was counterfeit when the company in question raised concerns

  • I am 100% sure they are the exact same product. Myer are selling it for $170 because they are charging higher profit margin & they think the type of people who shop at Myer won't comparison shop against Chemist Warehouse.

Here is another example. The exact same steam iron (Tefal model number FV5605):

    $99 at Good Guys

    $149 at Myer

Check the dates on the perfum. I noticed chemist warehouse have sometimes batch that date from 2-3 years ago .
