    Isn't that free now?

  • Thanks, ordered

Don't even have a landline and ordered these…the true OzBargain way. :-/

    • You can use them as an intercom.

      • Why bother when mobile phone calls are free now?

        • +1

when mobile phone calls are free now?

          the plans aren't free.

    • Mobile phone calls are free, but landline calls cost money. Why would you want a landline?

      • +3

Often a "landline" comes free with an internet plan.

        • With calls though? My ISP plans always come with a phone line, but you get limited or no free calls. My mobile plan OTOH comes with free unlimited national calls.

  • Ordered one also.
    Thanks a lot.

BTW, can these phones be used only one at a time.
Meaning, I only use one as if it was bought as a single unit, and when that dies, then I can use the other one as a single unit also?

    • Check comments in deal junkies post 👍

      • Sorry….what…where?

      • Oh I get it.

PS: Read that post, but its not answered there….

  • Are they NBN compatible?

    • Yes, just plug into the ATA.

      • That's pretty much every phone.

  • Thanks got one, bought a vtech from JB Hi Fi a few weeks ago and audio is shocking, even at the highest level it's very soft and can hardly hear.

    • Take off the protective plastic.

      • thanks…

  • Love how a communication device has these as #1 & #2 on the feature list:

One touch Do Not Disturb button
Allows blocking of up to 50 * numbers

  • Thanks OP….just bought 2.

  • So you fill up the memory with numbers (of a friends you don't want to be friends with) and you just block them all.
And they never be able to call you again….
    Priceless…..

  • Been waiting and now sold out

keep checking the site every other day. They do come in stock again.

  • Does anyone know if these use DECT, and if so, whether the second phone could pair/connect via DECT (wirelessly) to the Telstra technicolor NBN box (acting itself as the base-unit)?

I'd prefer not having to run a conventional telephone cable (RJ11) from telephone port on the box to the separate Telstra Easy Control 102 base-unit.

I have an existing Panasonic KX-TGH222AZB Dect Twin Handset Phone, and are able to sporadically get the second handset to pair directly the technicolor NBN box (thus alleviating the need for the Panasonic base-unit), but it is flaky and not reliable.

The main reason one may want to do this is to remove essentially a surplus power adapter and base-unit from having to be next to the technicolor box.

Has anybody received their phones or gotten a shipping notification yet?

I tried to check on my order today, couldn't find anywhere on the website to do so. Followed the Live Chat link from the order email and was presented with live chat choices that only related to mobile, pre-paid, nbn home services, etc.

Ended up spending 20 minutes talking to a live chat rep who had no idea how to track these kinds of orders or who he could transfer me to. He tried to get me to provide my full account number, date of birth, and drivers license number multiple times. None of which had anything to do with buying a simple phone handset so eventually I just had to give up on the chat.

    • I haven't received mine and purchased on the 29th.

This is what I got on live chat a few days back (shortened version)

***: ok Can you send me a tracking number when it's back in stock, as I got no notification that it was out of stock
Telstra CSR: Our apologies for that ***. Yes, We can do that for you.

We normally re-stock within a week. If you want we can give an update by Friday and call you back what's going on.

May we have your best call back number?

Well after no response, got back on live chat on Saturday night with my whole order details including Thank you for your order and see you online soon.
      Fiona Hayes,
Head of Customer Service and Contact Centres

They checked and could not find the phones so offered Telstra T-Voice® 503 Handset, which I declined after checking and asked for the Telstra Call Guardian 301

      Twin Phone
      Exclusive to Telstra

They checked with their supervisor/ manager who said they could do these at no extra cost. So decided to push the limit as it had been a month and asked for a refund of $20.00 which they did and credited my Telstra account for it

      Phones turned up today surprisingly

Don't know whether it was sending a whole copy of the invoice with Fiona Hayes,
Head of Customer Service and Contact Centres at the end, but happy with the outcome

      • Wow that's impressive. Any idea what category you picked or what you stated to the online bot to get put through to the wrong department? I've tried 2 consultants and been put through to prepaid and also told to put through the order again…

So after being very frustrated with the "customer service" from Telstra in trying to get any information about my order and failing, I finally just decided to file a PayPal claim, just asking them for either an update or just to cancel and refund.

It's been 5 days now and not even a response from Telstra. It'll get worked out eventually, but am actually shocked at how poorly Telstra handles these accessories sales.

    • no phone for me either

      • Me either. Ordered 30/08.

        • literally just got a tracking email then from telstra. Not sure if related to me contacting them via chat today.

        • Ordered on 28 Aug, nothing. Have tried live chat three times now, twice they didn't even know how to look up Accessories orders like this and told me I shouldn't have ordered online, but from their phone sales. WTF?

So I made a PayPal claim against the transaction, asking for an update on the order. PayPal gave them the 10 days and Telstra never even responded. So today, PayPal emailed to say I have been refunded because the seller did not respond.

          <shrug>

Goodbye Telstra, this will be my last time being a customer in any way.
