That is an exceptional price for an exceptional product with the Orbi! $284.05 at Officeworks with price beat!
    Nice find OP

    • I don't think Officeworks will match a code though?

      • Good point…

        • +2

Saying that I might try! ;)

          • @Romen: Let me know how you go!

            • @bugoy8: They won't. Kinda defeats the purpose.

              • @Numlock: You sure it's .com.au…but because it's a sale?
                how long onsale for?

    • +1

It sure is I love my Orbi, one of the best investments I have made.

      • same!

      • How long the distance you keep them apart to keep maximum speed?
I have tplink d7 connected to nbn, but couldnt cover the whole house.

        • +1

I've kept like roughly 5 to 10m apart, direct line of sight but between the windows. So far the coverage has been good. I've tried TP-Link Deco M5, they aren't too bad. But the worst is Google Wifi.

          • @cloudie9: Thanks. Was thinking getting M5 as well but couldnt see them discount often.
Would you think if I keep them 20m apart would worse the signal? 2 walls room apart. Because there where my trouble is.
Nbn is located at the front room, reached the furthest room using Archer D7 but signal worsen, occasionally signal is dropped.

            • +1

@eegos: Sorry I am not too sure with your 20m, but I suggest the nearer the satellite and the base, the better the coverage.

        • My RBK50 are about 13m apart (opposite ends of the house) and two plaster walls, one with a wardrobe full of books and the other with an upright grand against it. I get my max cable speed (115Mbps) throughout the house, even upstairs (why i have placed the satellite at the far end of the house) which would add up to about 15m and add a floor and other walls.

As I recall I bought this a year ago thru wireless1 eBay store on a 20% off sale at a similar price. It turned up within 2 days.

That's a great price for the 0rbi. Maybe AX coming soon influences it, but either way still a great buy.

    • yes this is more than likely. They released the AX version at CES 2019 (Las Vegas tech show). I have been expecting it shortly.

You can get 3 Orbi at Costco for $378

    • +1

      Different model

    • Costco has the RBK 22 and this deal is for the newer model

    • RBK50 faster than RBK22

  • For orbi it says free shipping but still trying to charge me $6.86 at checkout.

Edit: they must be reading ozbargain. They removed the free shipping tag.

Since you're reading comments, why don't you change the price of your ebay item too? With ausplugs code it'll be the same price for us and we can use our ebay gift cards.

    • It was free shipping when I posted.. Did you logged in and tried ?

      • Yes. They changed it.

        • I see free shipping (metro Brisbane)

          • @Satirical: They fixed it. It's free shipping for me now too

      • Free shipping for me too, unless you want express post

      • no free shipping for me NSW

Any good router for fttn with long 5g radio range?

  • Silly question but does the Orbi replace my current modem or connects to it?

    • +1

      It connects to it

  • macbook pro is cheaper on their ebay store with Ebay Plus

  • +1

awesome deal on the rbk50, been eyeing it for a while! thanks OP

  • Bugger, was waiting for a considerable price drop on rbk50. Didn't wait long enough. Ended up with a tplink 3150 from wireless 1. Oh well.

    • I use both. I use tplink C3150 as router, for QoS, and orbi as access point.
Orbi does not have good QoS features, but wifi speed is very good.

      • @seniordoc. Thanks. Also purchased a tplink powerline to help with wifi coverage, due to having to cover two floors. Not sure if it was a better solution than this. Due to not being able to test both in the Same environment.

  • The Asus ROG Claymore RGB Keyboard is a pretty good price for $150

  • What's Orbi's firmware like? I'm used to Asus/Merlin, not sure about Netgear.

    • Pretty good.

  • Love this router. Imported it from Amazon US months ago for just under this price and hasn't let me down.

  • +1

God darn it I just bought the Orbi

  • Been looking to buy another RBS50 but they no longer sell it as I already have an RBK50+RBS50+RBW30, can I buy this set and connect the additional RBS50?

    • Yes

      • Can you use 2 RBK50?

I have already had a RBK50, but it seems that they no longer sell RBS50 alone. So may buy another RBKs50 if I can use both.

    • You must have a massive house

  • -6

Why would anyone deliberately turn their home into a giant soup of wifi radiation?

    • +4

I think I’d have the wifi soup over the cat5e spaghetti…

  • So I need another rbs50 but can't seem to find that anywhere. Might get the rbk50 and just use the satellite. Is the rbk50 router by its own good/worth using compared to a basic modem? Might pass it to a relative or something who lives in an apartment and wouldn't need the large wifi coverage.

    • I need to do the same (get another RBS50). I believe the Router is worth using on its own if the apartment is small enough, so might jump on this deal also.

  • Man.. I just bought this at the good guys for $440 yesterday. You think I can purchase this one and refund it at the good guys for store credit?

    • From memory good guys have a price guarantee, but I'm not sure if it's against itself or against other retailers.

  • Thanks OP. Great price on the orbi. Now I gotta decide if I want to keep my Asus AC86U or use the rbk50 instead and give my dad the Asus.

    • Be a good son, keep the AC86U and give your dad the Orbi.

  • +1

Disregarding price, would this orbi be better than a single unifi-ac-hd?

    • They usually say a wired connection is faster but I am interested to know too

  • I'm actually having severe issues at my place with my orbi. The neighbours seem to have some super powerful Netgear router as well that keeps jumping on the same channels and ruining my signals. Actually contemplating going Google wifi or Amplifi HD

    • Easy fix. Go to your router wifi channel settings and swap out automatic option to a manual one.

      • It's not my router with the auto channel issue - it's my neighbour. I've got mine set to manual, but whenever I change the channel, his will just change again to use the same channel.

  • How much is shipping, eg. Orbi rbk50?

    • Free

    • But this deals blows up any deals atm by at least $100. Shipping shouldn’t be the deciding factor unless you are price matching at OW

Does anyone know or have experience using Tenda MW3 in comparison to this Orbi? I know the price difference is a lot, but does it reflect to much better performance using the Orbi in comparison to use the Tenda MW3. I have been using the Tenda mesh WiFi system for the past 3 months and they really have improved my Wifi connection at home.

    • +1

i have both. they are pretty much the same. Orbi has slightly better coverage but doesn't justify the price difference.

    • Great thanks for mentioning that Tenda MW3. It gives me some new idea. Just googled it and quite happy with them at that price and performance. Will go for it.

  • As New] iPhone 7 Plus 256GB Rose Gold for $1484 wow thats a hot deal hahaa

  • +1

Devo I missed out on the Orbi…

  • The Orbi is back in stock.

    • +1

      And OOS again.

  • RBK50 just gone back into stock. tried to apply code at checkout and says "code not valid"
on phone to customer support and they are saying the code isnt active anymore even
thought its still advertised on their site

    • sweet! customer service said even though they say the code is now inactive they will credit me the difference!

  • Coupon / sale appears to be over.
The Netgear Orbi is also available on their eBay store (at a higher price). However, unlike the one on their website it never went out of stock (interesting).
