MSI MAG 273QP QD-OLED X24 26.5" 240Hz WQHD 2560x1440 Gaming Monitor $849 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Umart

400

Can't find much online about this monitor but I think it's just a new version of the 271QPX QD-OLED E2? all the specs seem the same, Msi Oled's are generally good and come with 3 year burn in warranty and this is the lowest price I've seen one.

  • Anyone know what the text fringing is like on these QD oleds? Not really a fan of what it looked like on WOLED at 1440p.

Similarly difficult but somewhat fixable with third party font rendering alternatives to ClearType. Without that, the current subpixel implementation problems are fixed with 27" 4K offerings. May also improve over time with stripe RGB arrangements, which LG intend to do later this year but possibly not a high refresh rates.

Either way, it's a short-term issue, as we'll continue to see increasing pixel density alongside refresh rate.

Most 27" QD-OLEDs (including the 360hz version of this monitor) are 6.5-7/10 ("decent") for text clarity on RTings, so I'd wager they're pretty similar to an equivalent WOLED.

I'm currently on the MAG 271QPX E2 and i don't notice the text fringing. Once you go OLED, you'll never go back to LCD.

The Alienware AW2725DF (another 1440p QD-OLED) has gone as low as $1,049 on Amazon and it's a bit faster at 360hz, so that might be worth considering for ~$200 more.

The Samsung 360Hz version has gone as low as $770, so maybe both are poor choices.

    • +3

The 4K Alienware AW2725Q is $1199 at MSRP. Once that goes on sale it'll be a pretty compelling alternative - hell, it's pretty compelling now.

    • +2

It has gone as low as 899.

The 899 refurb is actually still available.

This or the LG UltraGear 27GS93QE-B for $759?

      • how and where

I got my ordered cancelled and many others have so it was a limited supply

  • I've been tempted by this and the aoc q27g40xmn but after trying out 1440p on my 27" 4k I really can't lose 4k 😭 If only the difference wasnt so big then i'd love the hdr improvements for switch 2

1440p is really peasant resolution in 2025. It should just die for everyone except true competitive gamers

4k is really peasant resolution in 2025. It should just die for everyone except true competitive gamers.

    • Yeah, I've got a 4k IPS and a 2k OLED LG monitor and feel this - I LOVE the colour accuracy and real blacks of the OLED, but I just can't stand to lose the resolution. The OLED now sits on my floor as it's just not worth using it.

      • Well if it’s just sitting on the floor…. I wouldn’t mind it /s

Cheaper option for those who want a top of the line high end monitor but don't wanna spend OLED money

I’m getting lost in all the LED types..

  • Compared to the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 for the same price last year, the only differrences is the new monitor lacks usb c and can height adjust by 2 more cm. So for now this is not that good a deal, but with OLED prices coming down, 850aud is the base price for this one so that means when it goes on actual sale it would be an absolute steal.

I mean would the LG 27GS93QE-B be a better option

  • +1

I think the 27GS93QE-B for $586 was the way

  • +2

All of these are so tempting… but I understand that the benefits of the LG Gen 4 Tandem RGB OLEDs are going to significantly better in full screen brightness, HDR and readability.
    Must hodl…….

    • They're probably still WOLED like the G5, so the brightness jump isn't quite what you think it is in actual content.

Shapes up largely similar to QD-OLED, just looks a little less washed out in a bright room.

    • hodl with you my brotha

  • I was attracted to this but after trying it on my 1440 4k I really can't afford to change my mind if the difference isn't that big.
