    Is it free?

EDIT Oh wait, hidden there in the last paragraph. $499 down from $1645. Maybe pop that in the title.

    • Thanks, Edited that.

  • Comparing it to the hotel website prices seems pretty good deal.

    • "Rack rate" is for suckers and corporations who write everything off as tax-deductible expenses.
      Eg:
      http://www.wotif.com/hotels/jw-marriott-khao-lak-resort-spa.…

      • It's sill ~$150/night at wotif versus this deal at $71/night with a bonus evening meal (the rest of the "free" things are standard).

        • The dinner is only a one offer, the breafast is daily. Very good deal nontheless!

        • Yah, I know. "a bonus evening meal" not "bonus evening meals".

        • Either way its great offer, and very tempting even though I been Thailand twice…

  • very good deal!

  • Newbie here. Question this is a syd deal im in melb can i buy.

    • Im sure you can. Previously I have purchased stuff from PER even though Im from ADL. But if you have any questions I would ring the travel agent http://www.travelpoint.com.au/.

      • Thanks will give them a ring. Sounds like a good deal.

  • "Bookings not available between 1 December 2011 and 31 March 2012"

Well, that counts me out! Seems a good deal though.

  • How much is airfare to thailand?

  • Damn!
Those exclusion dates screw the idea of using http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/48082 airfares!
$1499 for 2 people including airfare would have been a great deal. :S

    Few things to note:

    • The resort is about an hour north of Phuket International airport approx 1500 baht taxi fare each way
    • About 90mins from Patong where the decent nightlife and restaurants are
    • Approx 2200 baht per night when resort website is advertising 'special' rates of 3200 baht for 2 nights

Good deal if you are happy to chill out at the resort and maybe take some day trips to local islands but there are better deals/located resorts in Phuket

Just got back Monday from a trip where we spent a week in Kao Lak (the Ramada) before coming down to Phuket. Absolutely beautiful part of Southern Thailand and after doing many trips to Phuket (Patong) I enjoyed immensely not being hassled by tuk tuks, tailors and the like.
Patong is great if thats what you want - masses of tourists and hussle and bustle but personally I am over it and would much rather spend at least some time in the relative calm of other areas. I won't be booking in Patong again although we did rent a car and found it great being able to go where we liked.
This is an excellent deal for a pool access room in a 5 star resort.

Btw our fares were $400 all up return via KL with Air Asia - wait for a sale there and grab them. Last year we paid $99 one way to KL this year was $150 (and Air Asia are awesome for a budget airline)!

Agree Patong is getting old now that bogans from around the world have taken over.

  • Has anybody actually booked this yet? I have called the travel agent and they won't give any information about availability of rooms until you have purchased the scoopon, which they reiterate is non-refundable.

I'm really keen on this offer but at the moment it really seems a bit dodgey.

    Thoughts?

    • Doesn't sound like a good deal to me if you can't get availability before purchasing. Fair enough for a restaurant, but for an overseas hotel?

I also rang this morning and spoke to super unfriendly staff. Basically told me she won't even consider being flexible regarding kids. I can't pay extra for 2-3 yr old kids, I just have to pay for two rooms and see if I can get two rooms next to each other. I'm very keen on this holiday also, but I've started looking at booking directly as they say kids stay and eat free.

    • In the end I will book something else just because there is a real risk of having a coopon that I can't use. Plenty of other nice places for fairly cheap, even if they don't have the longest pool in SE Asia ;)
