Samsung RU8000 Vs QA65Q60RAWXXY TV

Hey Guys,

With the new Ebay code (20%) off i am taking a look at a new TV for the bedroom what's everyones thoughts on the RU8000 @1400 odd vs the QA65Q60RAWXXY @1800 odd ?

Have had a look online the comparison sites don't really give much user info i.e. how do they compare and is the QLED much better.

Scroll to the bottom they compare it to Q60R.

The Samsung Q60/Q60R QLED and the Samsung RU8000 both have very similar performance. The RU8000 has better black uniformity that helps deliver more uniform blacks in a dark room, and a bit better gray uniformity, which is great if you're a sports fan.

Given they are very similar in panel performance, it might just come down to smart features, inputs etc.

  • Save the money and get the RU8000. They are almost the same TV. The QLED should only start from the Q75.

  • Mind me asking what size you’re looking at and where are you getting these prices?

    • 65 inch and prices are from ebay with the discount codes for 20% off

      • Thanks

      • Can you share the ebay link please?

  • +1

Have you considered the NU8000 instead of the RU8000? rtings say its a better TV :/ The RU8000 is only better for gaming.

  • Yeah i'm tossing between the 65 and 55… the 65 is 50% more costly.

    • i'm going from a 65 to 65 in the bedroom wife won't go smaller…In all honety if i could i'd go 75 but turning the light on in the bedroom would be hard. Main thing for me is getting something that lasts the tv currently in the bedroom 2011 Sammy is starting to show some wierd discoluration in Hulu and static images so time for a new one.

  • I'm interested in pulling the trigger on the RU8000 but rtings' warning about poor viewing angles scares me off

    • Most TVs with VA panels will have the poor viewing angles due to the way the VA panel works. Go for LG LED if you are purely looking to watch TV at angle.

      • But suffer with bad brightness, contrast and colour gradients. IPS panels are quite bad to VA. Dark room content is awful for blacks. Watching a VA panel from a slight angle is the same as watching an IPS panel, but front on VA slaughters IPS.

  • This is all very helpful thanks heaps. Was in a Good guys earlier today, RU7100 looked alright, they didn't have any RU8000s to look at though

    • The Good Guys don’t stock any RU8000s except the 82” unfortunately.
