Great basic, cheap torch with decent light output. The choice of options (7135 x4, 7135 x8 etc) refers to the number of LED chips, so the higher the multiplier the brighter the light. Deal expires today so get in quick. You can get it a touch cheaper via the app.

Really well reviewed light - see https://brightbestlight.com/convoy-s2-led-flashlight-review/

You'll need an 18650 battery and a charger if this is your first light of this type.

Nice torch. Got wife a nice custom one in gift box with XML2 T6 4C, OP reflector and 8x7135. Kids have a 6x7135 each and I have a copper S2+ and 5x7135 365nm Purple UV light.

    • what is the number ?x7135 mean? There is 8 6 3 etc..

      • 7135 is the chip, each lets 350mA through if I remember rightly.
        The 4x represents how many.
The more there are, the brighter the torch.

Also might be worth mentioning the increased heat and decreased run-times with that increased brightness. These lights can get pretty hot when left on high for an extended period of time.

Nothing says love like a custom torch in gift box for the wifey! :-)

  • Got an S2+ 4x7135 and M1 6x7135. Both are awesome!

If you want a black one, or a choice on the colour temp, see here ($1.50 more though):

  • So you need a ~$20 battery + specific charger to power these? Any suggestions?

  • +1

Sorry, I must be missing something - why would I buy the x4 model? Longer battery life? Can't I just set the x8 to low power?

    • +3

You can set the x8 to 50% and it'll be like the x4 at 100% but there's a bit more to it.

The brightness settings only apply for normal torch mode. Other modes like strobe/bike run at a percentage of 100%.

To the eye and/or usable throw (range), there might be not much between the x4 and x8. The C8 has throw.

A x8 on lowest brightness might be too bright for simulating moonlight mode.

There's the safety aspect of getting too hot to touch when tail standing and therefore have difficulties turning it off. Kids can/might do that.

If a UV light (if it has options), there's a safety aspect for eye damage.

If modded with short tube, a x4 will work but the x8 could be too much for the battery to handle.

  • Expired already? Price is now US$19.95

  • No USB charging?

    • +1

Not on the S2+. From memory the Convoy S9 has USB charging.

My experience trying to get these into the country is, more than 50% of the time, they never got here. Would have got stuck at customs and returned to sender, and of course the sender won't notify you that it has happened.

    • So how do we shop for 18650s these days?

      • Look for local stock I guess.

If you figure it out or find a good local retailer, do share.
