Hard to really gauge what “good condition” will end up being but damn that’s CHEAP.

      This should scare you:

Product is in good condition, this classification is reserved for device that will show evidence of much heavier use that will include scuffing, heavier scratches, dents and chips on external surfaces, wear and tear will be visible on palm rest, keyboard and touchpad, screen may have minor scratches, white blemishes may be evident on the screen, hinges may have small cracks.

Whirlpool review of great condition unit :

I have just received my order from Renewd.com.au and was disappointed with what I received.
Service was great but, yes, the prices are too good to be true.
My "Good" condition laptop had significant structural cracks and the keyboard function was intermittent.
I returned it with a minimum of fuss. So full credit to them.
So my recommendation is to look to their "Excellent" condition items, where the prices aren't too good to be true.
But then again, the economics of a high cost second-hand device just aren't there.

Yeah I thought as much. Credit to them for being transparent, but 'cracked' hinges didn't sit well with me.

Neg, based on guideline: Major issues with retailer

  • Sold out already?
Smells like bait and switch to me.

    • Hi Miq,

As you can see there were different kinds of pricing due to the grading structure.

The lowest prices product got sold out and we are updating the prices on a post as per remaining products on the website.

    • My MacBook is eligible for the battery and screen one. Do I actually need to wait for the batter to swell or light to bleed for them to replace it? I want a new battery

  • Beware of touchpad issues on the A1708, mine has lost the click function, still works by tapping but I don't get the feedback of a noticeable click. No recall or acknowledgment on the apple website but forums say it's not uncommon on this model.

Other than this issue I'm happy with mine.

I had similar symptoms which were caused by a swollen battery. If you're near a friendly authorised repairer, it might be worth having a chat. The serial for my machine wasn't covered by any recalls according to Apple's website but I got a free repair anyway (new top deck, battery, touchpad, etc).

  • Hey Rep

do you have anymore stock at $799?

I bought a good condition MBP 15'' 2015 with a one year warranty from renewd a few months ago. There is a slight dent on the device and a white blemish on the screen. Other than that its a pretty good deal.
A couple of weeks ago I started to notice the arm rest area began to form a slight swollen and the battery sign is telling me to service the battery. I contacted renewd and they agreed to take a look since its still in warranty from them. Posted the machine and waited for a few days they just posted it back straight back to me without telling me what happened and whether they found something. I asked them via email and they said they tested it for 48 hours and nothing's wrong. I got the macbook back and its still swollen with battery sign up. Asked them again, they said they would check with workshop and no further reply after that.

So… maybe try to stay away from their good condition device and the one year warranty?

Plenty of similar sentiments in other postings from OP. Warning bells.

  • So I took a leap of faith and bought the "good condition" macbook pro… aaaaaand it was a risk that paid off. It's in excellent condition because the complete top casing with keyboard and battery have been replaced with a brand new one. Only the display lid has small bumps around the edges. Can't see any faults with the display itself.

Over the moon with the purchase but I still wouldn't throw caution to the wind. Expect the worst and you may be pleasantly surprised.
