I bought this TV for $100 more a couple of weeks ago :(

  • Any recommendation for 65" 4k UHD tv under 1100aud?

  • no 75" in their store, weird

  • thats a good bargain. I have the model below and I don't know whether to buy this one and try and sell my existing 43", or do you guys think any TV manufacturer will make a OLED 43" TV?

  • +2

    This Samsung 43" or Hisense 43" ($476 + delivery)?

  • Can the 43" automatically switch on when an input is detected, like a computer monitor?

    • +2

Yes. Sometimes it doesn't seem to detect it for some reason, but it usually does.

      • Great, thanks!

        • +1

          No worries.

Ps. It should not only detect it, but detect the type of device, and give it a picture icon so you can easily see which input is where (eg Xbox, Foxtel, etc all have a different icon).

          • @BooYa: I just picked mine up yesterday. Did you have to configure anything to get the auto-power-on to work? I've set the input to PC and enabled game mode but it still doesn't turn on automatically.

Does yours also switch off automatically when the computer goes to sleep?

  • Probably a decent bedroom tv?

    • +1

Absolutely. I have a 50" in the bedroom, but it's just that little bit too big.

I'd recommend the 43" for the bedroom.

  • +1

Oh man, just when I decided not to get another bedroom tv, it's reduced by another $50.

Time to reset the brain, and reconsider it, because those prices are laughably low for such great tvs.

  • Are these Smart TV's?

    • +1

      Lol. Of course.

I bought the 6,000 series earlier this year for just under a grand (and that was on sale).

Here you have possibly the best tvs in the sub $1,000 category, at virtually half the price (well, maybe I exaggerate a little, but not by much).

I highly recommend this tv (sometimes I get stunned by picture quality, even after having it for a few months now).

Ps. Not only are they smart tvs, they also have one of the best user interfaces out there (with most people preferring either the Samsung interface, while others prefer the LG interface).

  • Doesn't seem to come with a universal remote, like the one at jb - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/samsung/samsung-series-7-ru7100-43… which is $595 for the 43'. 😖

      • in the description on ebay, says it comes with a TM1240A

    • I'm guessing the description on eBay is wrong, I can't find anything that suggests that there are separate SKUs with and without the remote.

      • Hope so

        • I think I'm wrong, just watched the rtings review and their unit also shipped with the TM1240A.

          https://youtu.be/IXtrTkt1BE4?t=596

          • @evanjd: Rtings.com only review US versions which are very often different in many ways from their Australian equivalents.

I'm not saying that's the case here at all, just to take that into consideration that it could be.

    • I have the unified remote, but I prefer the standard ones tbh https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/481360#comment-7693847

But it's a personal preference (it certainly looks better, but I find it a bit of a pain to use).

  • What a great price, so tempting. Anyone have experience with VideoPro? The only turn off is the apparently long delivery times - 3 weeks to VIC according to eBay.

    • +1

Definitely well known and reputable, I'm not sure about delivery times though.

  • +2

Thanks OP, grabbed one of the 50" models!

    • +1

      You won't regret it.

  • Shows that it don't post to West Australia.
    Is that right?

  • This or a hisense R7?

    • Definitely Samsung

  • +1

Nice deal. Pity I'm after a 55 inch.

    • +3

      So is the girlfriend apparently.

I showed her this deal and she said it's too small.

  • +2

Thanks op. Been after a new TV for a while and 50 inch should be enough for me.

  • Are these Android? Will I be able to add it into my Google Home setup and also be able to cast YouTube/Spotify to it?

  • Good while it lasted … for a few hours

  • Could these TVs be used as PC monitors?

I'm not about to buy one, but i'm asking for the future.

I think it used to be the case that you wouldn't buy a 32" LCD monitor because the resolution wouldn't be good enough for PC use (MS Office), but if 4K is becoming cheap shouldn't that mean we could all have 43" PC monitors on our desk for a few hundred dollars?

    • Yes. I use it as a PC momitor, and it looks great.

But you will be limited to resolutions compatible with HDMI cable, so you will probably need to change resolutions and/or aspect ratio or text size (unless you have a graphics card/output for a second display, and have different settings for the two).

It sounds a bit complicated, and time consuming, but it's not really - once setup (or remember settings if you switch) it's very easy to use.
