    Is this targeted?

Must be i didnt get it plus i already direct debit

  • I was targeted for 6000 ~7 days ago.
In my case anyway I need too have it registered for a minimum of 45 days before it pays out the points.
"Loyalty points will not be awarded if direct debit is removed before 45 days. Points expire 3 years from earning."

I ended up removing it yesterday. As each time I logged in via the website or visited the Telstra24/7 app it said I didn't have direct debit set. So I doubt it would have paid the points out anyway. :(

Takes a few days to update on their system

      • Says it may take up to 2 days in some circumstances on their website/app. I gave it 5 business days posted a message on their facebook page when it got no reply from them I logged in and removed it. Chances are it glitched in their system and will still be active anyway. lol

        • I updated to direct debit about 3 weeks ago but website says there is no direct debit set up. Bizarre. Looks like I won't be getting any points.

          • @minniethemoocher: Can you see it though? It complained that I didn't have it yet on the direct debit page there was it plain as day. So I removed it going it's not worth it.

5 days later (3 days after the above post) an email with 'thanks for registering to direct debit we will now process it.' Within 30mins the app and my account no longer complained that I didn't have it set up.

So it took them nearly 2 weeks to see it. A lot longer then the up to 3 days the site says.

Telstra ignored my facebook post but I received a message from someone saying don't do it. As they just had their account services suspended due to telstra's system debiting the same bill multiple times.
Reps would rightly reverse one of the debits but then telstra's system would complain the bill hadn't been paid.
That had been going on over and over for months.

Really worth a bunch of these points? I would say no. lol

  • I got an email for the 6000 bonus points too. It's probably dependant on which teir you are to how many points you're offered. It's not enough of an incentive to set up direct debit for me though.

It defies logic that you can't understand why many are….

$49 a month for 60gig with pom data. Got a $500 gc from jb before i swapped to this. Got a month credit due to an error and ive canceled a month of internet that was costing me $70 a month. In my mind im in front atm…

        • +2

Yeah the jb deals alone are incredible. Add to it you are getting the best…. Why pay similar or more for less coverage and speed?!?!?

        • +3

          Thought that said 60gb porn data… O_o

        • Still happy with Telstra for my Pixel 2 XL 20gb a month for $59

          • @kulprit: Hit them up for extra data, say everyone is on like 60-80 gig for what your now paying.

            • @Seedy seed: I don't use 20gig. What are people doing when they aren't at home that uses so much data?

              • @kulprit: I used it to tether to my tv and pc. In the last month i not only used the 60 but 320gig peice of mind lol

While these Telstra rewards are obviously a free benefit…. Any actual reward is virtually impossible to achieve. Over 100k points for a galaxy watch that's on a promo atm… I believe I read they had expiry too, though could be wrong.

Better off using Paypal and getting QFF points imo.

    • Mind sharing how to earn QFF by recharging with Paypal?

      • Credit Card to avoid surcharge.

    I was offered 2000 :(

I don't give a rats clacker about "Telstra Points", I have no idea what they do… sound pretty worthless to me.

    • It's ok you can swear! But upvoted you for the creative twist :)

I have direct debit set up for all of my bills except Telstra. These morons have been wrong so many times that it’s nice to know they won’t just rip disputed money from my credit card. The 4000 points aren’t worth the risk.

    • You can set a max amount they can direct debit
You will still have to pay any extra for anything not including in the plan
