Cheaper from ninja.buy eBay (previously pc.byte) - $38.31 Delivered (With Coupon Code "PICKLE")

  • How does this compare to the Asus RT-AC87U?

    • +1

What you pay for is what you get.

Wireless on the AC87U can do twice the speed theoretically (AC2400 Vs. AC1200), thanks to twice the number of 5Ghz antennas compared to the Tenda AC6v1 and a extra 2.4Ghz antenna (probably internal), so better WiFi all round.

On wired Ethernet, it's chalk and cheese. The AC87U has Gigabit (1000Mbit) ports all round on it's 1 WAN and 4 LAN ports, where as the Tenda AC6 only does 100Mbit on it's 3 LAN and 1 WAN, which ccould be restrictive into the future if you get superfast fixed wireless or NBN now or into the future.

You can check the full specs of both on WikiDevi: https://wikidevi.com/wiki/ASUS_RT-AC87U https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Tenda_AC6

      • Very informative - thanks mate

      • It's hard to believe vendors are still making 100mbit interfaces in 2019.

I think you are better off with the $10 Telstra Modem Models regularly available on the usual sites…. Gigabit for one…

I highly doubt the wifi is any noticeable difference.

  • That's a nice spaceship

Doubles as a table when you flip it upside down.

  • Get a Tenda AC11 from aliexpress..
Around same price and is much better.. Has gigabit all round.
