          • @18: I'm open to better change, not worse change. Five gestures to serve the purpose of ONE button is not an objectively better change. That's complication for the sake of complication, and zero net gain.

Of course I walk. Can you drive inside a shopping mall? I drive when it makes sense, and walk when it doesn't. Walking inside a mall is an objectively better option than driving a car inside Coles. Driving 20km to work is objectively better than walking there. It's not that difficult to grasp.

In no scenario is swiping your finger across the entire screen faster than a single button press.

    • Exactly what I did. Paid full price pre-order and claimed the discounts so far.

      • if they drop price again in 11 months does 28degres allow a second claim

        • Yes you can make multiple claims

        • Yes, up to a limit of $1000.

  • Help Please - shows 10+ shows up as 1699 and note 10 at 1499 - tried with my edu and gov address and still the same

    • +1

Click the link in the main post

      • Thanks @wesleyNZ. just checked my edu email and doesnt allow multiple accounts from same person - Edu and gov. there is no discount on Gov atleast for me

    • +1

You've got to create a Samsung account. While logged in, you need to register for the education program , and to do that you need to be able to access an email address that ends in edu.au or is one of the approved educational institutions. If the email address is eligible, Samsung will then send an activation link to that email address, you need to login to that and click the activation link. Only then can you access the education store with the special offers.

  • Really good price and very tempting but I'm still salty that they took out the headphone jack. Sticking with my note 9 for now

  • Thanks OP! Grabbed 2 of them

  • Can you still claim TRS after purchasing from here?

    • yes, you will be getting a tax invoice with gst paid

Just my 2 bobs worth. Always was a Samsung Note user 3, 4, 5 and finally 7, until the battery debacle and switch to the iPhone 7 and now IPhone max. Hated the iPhone initially but later on got used and now actually loving it. Everything runs smooth period and effortlessly. Unless you want to fiddle and put apps cracked or otherwise, jailbreak for getting more out of it then Android it is. But when most apps work as they should seamlessly and if you are not a fiddler the IPhone or IOS it is.

    • +3

I have used iPhones since iPhone 3 till iPhone X - moved to Galaxy S9 and then S10+. Came back to Xs Max. iOS is great, everything works as it should. However I miss some of the features on Galaxy - e.g. scroll screenshot, physical dual sim, auto google photo backup, truecaller support, scheduled sms messages are some to mention. For these reasons I am happy to move to Android and currntly IMO Note 10+ is best looking and powerful android.

      Bobs and vegana?

    • +1

Android = only useful for cracked apps and jailbreaking?

just like PCs are only useful for pirated pc games vs consoles right?

  • Is there a limit to how many handsets you can buy?

    • yep,, if you go to your profile you can find the quotas on how many gadgets you can buy, just from memory 5 mobiles

    • Max 5 handset per account per year.

  • Anyone have recommendations for great screen protector and case?

    • i will just put a UV film protector on front that's it. it's already a huge phone, adding a case would be too bulky. had a look at whats on ebay all too thick

      • Yeah, I'm not brave enough to be rocking around with no case…

        • let me know if you find a good case

          • @elvislj: Yours has dispatched already?

            • +1

@MrFizz: mines preparing for dispatch, i've ask the question before ordering on how long is the delivery time and they said express metro delivery is next day if order was submitted before 2pm.

            • @MrFizz: DISPATCHED! just now

          • @elvislj: I went for this

          • +3

@elvislj: the phones comes with a screen protector already applied (at least the stock protector is so good i havent used my tempered glass one yet)

and comes with a free case in the box thats so gripping, precisely thick enough to protect the phone and transparent to showcase the Aura GLow that i havent used my aftermarket case

    • +1

the preinstalled protectors are the best, believe me.

    • +7

you do not need to purchase another screen protector and case, the Note 10+ preinstall a screen protector and come with a clear case.

If you use other screen protector it might affect the fingerprint scanner

      • Thanks, I had no idea!

      • I found a lot of websites and unboxing videos showing the pre-applied screen protector, but I can't find any source for the inclusion of the case. Is this just in Australia?

        • go back to the EPP store and look on the "what's inside the box" and yes, the clear case is included.

          • @angelkulit025: Thanks, took me a while to find it on the site but nice to know it has one. I wonder what kind of car mounts will work for it.

  • I brought one and wanted to know if there is any insurance that covers screen damage. I have a toddler who throws things around. Please guide on with some links to this.

    • +4

If you purchased with certain amex cards you get the screen protection insurance. I haven't claimed myself but its excess is 10% of the price to fix

    • Would Home and Contents help? I put my wifes note 8 in a full front and back case for our 2.5yo…. Saved it many times.

  • Wow note 10 discounted After launching for 1 month.

Sigh wish I had not purchase my note 9 512gb x 2 in June.

    • these things are flying.. oppo reno 2 has just been released 3 months after reno 1

    • I’d stick with note 9, no point keep buying the phones as they are not an investment…

    • Yeah I wonder why…

  • Im still in Note 8. Is it worth the jump from 8 to 10+?

    • I jumped from Note 8 to Note 10+.I only notice bigger screen and better battery life and faster charging.Rest is not that noticeable. No headphone jack and no notification led means they went one step backwards as well.

    • +1

      yes

unless youre butthurt about headphone jack just to discount all the other features (like techno2000 must be blind because the screen is bigger too, but Hurr durr no headphone jack) then everything about it is a step up

      • +1

It depends how much the other features mean to you and how much the HPJ means to you. They mean different things to different people, and I can totally see the 3.5mm jack being more important to an audiophile than a few mm of screen length.

Bluetooth audio isn't good enough for me except when I need ANC in a noisy place, in other words, audio quality doesn't matter.

    • I am still on Note 8 too. Very tempted to get either Note 10 or 10 +

    • Have been contemplating this as well, but think I'll pull the trigger. I'm a stylus junkie so the note is a given, but don't think I can wait another year due to degraded battery life on the current phone.

If that wasn't an issue (and I didn't have a small crack in the screen), I'm not 100% convinced the upgrade is a must have (the note 9 was definitely not upgrade worthy from the 8).

      • My note 8 is in perfect condition with no cracks or scratches and battery health is perfect ( as in the condition of the battery is very good after checking at Samsung Store) but it can only last me 6-8 hours a day. Yet, I am still very tempted cause I have been using every Note except 7 and 9

  • How long is this deal going for?

This deal sounds too good…is there a catch to it?

  • Got the Note 10+. Woohoo! What a price.

  • How important is having 5G compatibility for the future?

    • +1

It's useless now. It'll take a long while till it's really necessary

    • Watch the MKBHD video on the 5G.
After that you won't be buying a phone with a 5G for the next few years.

    • If your house has good signal then it's an NBN alternative. Though signal areas are currently very rare.
And there is the problem of Australian big data plans being so expensive.

Will be more useful in next year's models, which should be standard on all of them.

      • I’m thinking about it’s resale value… in a year or two, will anyone want to buy a non 5G phone?

      • I saw a speed test on Telstra 5G. The speeds were very impressive, but the latency made it a dud for gamers. It's not viable to replace NBN at home if you play games.

  • I got JB to price match, as well as the $500 credit towards the phone as part of the porting process. Effectively $1100 off on the 5G model.

    • Holy Batman!!

      • +1

Wait, so they price matched a different model of the phone that was from an online store and you needed special membership to to get access to? They must have really needed that sale!

        • And above where it shows the price they matched, in red font it says “OUT OF STOCK”.

          • @MrFizz: Yep, JB price matched an out of stock item for once

        • Yep

    • Could you explain how you did that exactly?

      • Logged in on my phone using my Government-linked account and showed it to the sales guy. The 5G model is $1399 from $1999. JB matched it. I signed up for a 12 month plan porting from my $5 dodo voice only sim account. Out of that, I am also given $500 credit towards this $1399 phone.

        • Isn't the 5g models are out of stock? Mine showing out of stock.

        • Can you please send me a screenshot? Would love to claim price protection from 28Degrees!! :)

    • +1

This is just too good to be true plus knowing JB.

    • +2

Can’t help but think your lying… lol

      • +6

Not here to force anyone to believe me. Just trying to share my experience. Your mileage may vary, depending on how politely you deal with people.

        • Fair enough, well played mate.

      • +1. need proof. especially when the price difference is so huge, jbhifi go to extreme lengths to deny a price match (as compared to others such as officeworks).

even getting the xbox controller to price match was a royal PITA from jb hifi

    • the $500 doesnt really count. its the telstra $60 12month deal right?

    • Hi my local JB won’t price match it even if I show them your screenshot, he said he need to see the receipt that the item actually paid for, can you pls kindly send us the receipt ? Really appreciated

      • Could I also get a picture of the receipt too please? Thanks so much!

        • Could I also trouble someone with a photo of the receipt as well? Thanks in advance!

      • +4
        • +1

Thanks dude, got them to do the same deal for the hybrid sim note 10+.

          • @[Deactivated]: Are you able to PM me the receipt? I'm having trouble getting my local JB to price match this for me.. Much appreciated.

              • @[Deactivated]: Thanks Champ!

                • @carva848: No worries, just keep moving stores if rejected and be nice.

I got rejected by two stores before I scored a yes in Canberra centre store. I will certainly go back to them again in the future.

                  • @[Deactivated]: Did you explain what were you were trying to do to the Jb staff or just straight up showed them a copy of the receipt of the price that can be had?

                    • @iTaco: Both, tried to explain then show receipt. It all depends on the manager though.

                      • @[Deactivated]: Are you actually qualified for the educational discount?? did they ask to check your edu email or student id? or did you just get them to price match anyway i wonder?

                        • @SadieS: I am qualified for government discount. Just show the Samsung epp page with the discounted price.

  • Soooooooo temptedddddd

  • Hi there,

Does anyone know whether I can claim price protection if I bought the phone from Harvey Norman using 28 degrees card?

    Cheers

  • Maybe im missing something here… how is anyone buying without a .edu email? lol

    • Ask a friend i guess, i use my gf's one.😁

  • +1
