AMEXGD

The Ascott Limited is a Singapore company that has grown to be one of the leading international lodging owner-operators. Ascott's portfolio spans more than 170 cities across over 30 countries in Asia Pacific, Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA. Ascott has more than 66,000 operating units and over 43,000 units under development, making a total of more than 110,000 units in over 700 properties.

Ascott Hotel Group has free 2 years GOLD status to sign up with Promo code AMEXGD. Normally you have to spend more than AUD 3k to get GOLD status.
The membership benefits are listed on the their website HERE

They have a quite a few properties in Asia Pacific and a few of them are located in Australia.
The GOLD status does not give you too much elite benefits but still better than nothing. You get free breakfast in Europe etc.
I guess people can sign up and request status match with Hilton status so this might be helpful for some of you.

  • Where do you put the promo code?

    • +3

Code is already applied if you click the link provided

      • Anyone can upgraded to Gold Status successfully?

        • Yes. I followed the link by clicking "Go to Deal" and I automatically get Gold Status and 4000 points after signing up.

        • Me too.

  • Good find.

That free breakfast sounds good. Any cheap flights to Europe atm?

    • +11

According to this link the free breakfast is for platinum. Hmmm…

    • Actually there are, I saw flybys promo, flying to Europe for about 1100 next May/June.

  • +5

Just registered, but still the lowest level (Classic).

  • +10

"Complimentary breakfast at serviced residences in Europe" is for Platinum Status only.
Gold Status gets "Complimentary room upgrades subject to availability" in Europe only.

  • Does Hilton match Ascott's status? Any other hotel chains which can match their status too?

  • Looks like no way to get this upgrade if already a member.

    • Yeah same, forgotten that I've already signed up as a member in the past!

  • Got it. Thanks, OP.

  • +2

What will the 4,000 points get you?

    • +1

Around $10, I just booked and redeemed the points.

  • -4

I just signed up using this link - https://ascott-web-service.crmxs.com/?xs_app=asr.registratio… with the referral code being AMEXPLAT, but still shows me as a Classic member and gain of 3000 points.

Signing up with code AUSOEM also gets you Classic membership with 3000 points.

Does it get automatically upgraded at some later time? Do you need to somehow have an AMEX card linked or something??

    • +7

I followed the link by clicking "Go to Deal" and I automatically get Gold Status and 4000 points after signing up. You can even see AMEXGD already filled in the coupon code section.

  • entered details and clicked sign up —> no response?
tried different browser and same issue.

EDIT: password must contain upper and lower case letters.

    • Thanks for that. Was struggling with that too

      • I found out using my mobile.
Not sure why the same message did not appear in Chrome (PC version)

  • No issues using the link. Noticed when opening in new tab the code didn't populate so I made sure went through directly via link on this page and all good

I Googled "Hilton Honours status match" and found this info on

    https://onemileatatime.com/hilton-status-challenge/

"How to request a Hilton Honors status challenge

In order to request a status challenge you just have to fill out the online form with your first name, last name, email address, Honors account number, and the status you’re trying to match.

Then you have to also upload proof of your status, as well as proof of a stay with a competing hotel chain in the past 12 months (which prevents you from matching based solely on status obtained through a credit card, status match, etc.)."

The last part is a dealbreaker :(

  • +1

Any way of upgrading my current status?

    • Same question. I signed up with them 2 weeks ago for a holiday in December. Although tbf, you get 3000 points for joining on their lowest tier anyway.

  • Thanks OP for the code. Worked well. Having said that I’m not sure I’ll want to use this chain. A quick check of cities like Singapore (which is pretty small) show that their properties are quite far out of the city centre

I guess people can sign up and request status match with Hilton status

I know by fact that their Tokyo hotel is right in the city centre and it's a new hotel. I will probably stay there next time I travel to Tokyo.

    • Which hotel? Citadines?

      • +1

Ascott Marunouchi Tokyo. Excellent hotel, stayed there in January. Conveniently located, rooms are really big for a Tokyo property and it smells nice :)

  • Nice one OP, signed up and confirmed gold status :)

  • +10

So you pay more per night than you normally would for other hotels just for free wifi and a welcome drink. Yeah no thanks.

    • +5

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out what the excitement is all about.

    • Two words: business travel.

  • Can I ask… people who have sucessfully signed up, do you have an AMEX account / card which uses the same email address?

  • Any ideas how often this deal comes up or how long it last

Like the poster above I am thinking about getting my 2 years when my Hilton Diamond runs out too…and maybe status my way back to Gold :)

    • Usually it doesnt last too long. When they have enough people sign up they remove the code.

  • -3

Good find. My Hilton Diamond is running out soon, maybe they'll keep it up just long enough!

  • No hotels in NZ for some reason?

  • -3

Thanks ARCTAN. Got goldn membership. Whare are the benifits being a golden member ?

    • I posted the link of benefits in my original post.

  • Anyone have a screenshot of their Ascott account with a booking in it?
