    Beko, well known in the UK for covering up their dangerous products that caused many house fires across their range of products.

    Spend your money on a brand that has a reputation to protect like Bosch, Miele etc.

      To be fair to Beko, many of those reports are a few years old. I haven’t seen anything on recent models.

        Beko engaged in covering up the faults and delayed recalling until they were ordered to. The point is that this company has killed people and did nothing. They don't deserve anyones business and I sure wouldn't put my trust in them to have changed.

        They covered up fridge fires for over four years instead of recalling. After they announced the recall they had only contacted 11,000 owners out of over 500,000 after a few months had passed.

          Article is dated 2011.

          Presumably different board, senior leadership and products since then.

          Before VW cheated on emissions they built vehicles for the German war effort. I’m happy to buy one now though.

            Volkswagen are one of the companies that cheated on emissions, nearly every other manufacturer did as well and what does the war have to do with anything?

                Where did you find information that the board and senior leadership have changed? Looking at LinkedIn they are all the same.

                The event that I posted earlier occurred in 2016. Not that long ago.

                This is a company that has shown zero regard for the safety of their customers. Why anyone would choose to buy a product from Beko is beyond me when there are other brands available for around the same price with safer products.

                Some Beko products have posed a safety risk to consumers who buy them. In 2016, Mishell Moloney was found dead due to a fault with a Beko drying machine that had caught fire.[9] Beko tried to state that the fault that led to Moloney's death was a 'tragic and isolated incident.'[10] However, the DCS 85W drying machine which was used by Moloney was already responsible for some twenty fires in the UK. Beko quality control chief, Andrew Mullin, also revealed that the smaller models in the range, had already been recalled due to hundreds of safety incidents.[11]

                Beko has also come under fire for their poor reviews, especially in relation to aftercare. A Trustpilot survey found that 88% of customers rated Beko as 1/5 (the lowest mark) for quality and service, with only 6% rating their products and services as 'excellent.'[12

        Eh, I have a rental that had a really old dishwasher that broke, they replaced it with a Beko and it seems pretty good.

    My Beko front load washing machine just died, which was the reason for me to search on here for washing machines. 4yrs old. Sounded like it was sparking while turning the drum until the drum turned no more.

    Reading this, maybe I'm lucky that it didn't catch on fire.

    Won't be buying another Beko, even if they do repair for free when I call them tomorrow asking for a reasonable duration warranty claim, with the ACCC my next call if they don't.

    Ordered mine Friday and delivered today, Monday in Qld. Driver messaged me early with a 2 hr delivery window and then again 30mins before arrival. Set it all up ready to go in the laundry and even took my old 22yr old rusty kleenmaid away. Great service! 3 loads already done and I'm pretty impressed! Nice looking, solid build and the clothes came out clean and well spun. Amazed at how quiet it is compared to my old top loader. It also heats its own water. $399 well spent I think so far! May even purchase another one for my daughter whose thinking of moving out and getting her own place shortly.
