My first post here. I've been planning to take this well reviewed online course for some time and came across a coupon, so finally bit the bullet.

It's still a bit pricey but you get to interact with MIT staff and work through real cases studies, so it may be worth it from that perspective ( you may also be able to claim a tax deduction for education if your job permits it).

Plus you get a certificate that may help with your CV.

  There is a 12 week course run by General Assembly which costs UK10,000 pounds. I guess this might be a cheap way to signal to an employer you're serious.

  And general assembly doesn't the have same brand recognition as MIT (although their courses are really good)

    Not sure how they stack up to be honest. I’m sure that an employer wouldn’t necessarily value a 20k non degree course over a 1.1k course of a similar duration.

  Coursera used to offer free courses as well(I took this for free some years ago)-
