What's your favourite Connoisseur ice cream flavour?

Keen to try some flavours I haven't tried before, but don't want to buy duds.

  • Honey macadamia but white chocolate and raspberry a close second

  • +3

Taste is subjective. Try them all when they are half-price. Add your own topping of choice if desired (e.g. crushed peanuts, LSA mix, psyllium husk, fruit). "Duds" don't last on the market for long (e.g. matcha abomination).

The matcha truly sucked. Firstly they were too stingy with the matcha powder. Second chocolate was not of the variety that belonged in ice cream, you could hardly taste it unless you let it melt and the texture was like cheap plasticky chocolate. But worst was the soggy and bland waffle cone. Who wants a soggy ice cream cone?

Yo guys I found the vegan

      • How do you recognise a vegan?

You don't need to, they'll let you know soon enough.

People who like Cookies and Cream only kill about half the calves. With ice magic, that's 2/3rds calves saved. Eat more cookies and cream.

    • -1

Yes, given the chance those calves could grow up and become productive members of our society, who work 9-5 jobs in an office or factory. On their lunch breaks they can talk to their colleagues about how much of a prick the boss is and discuss their weekend plans to go drinking down the pub with their other cow friends and oh wait…no they can’t, because they’re just cows. Probably why we use them for food.

By the way, the answer is cookies and cream.

      • Not being able to hold a job or a conversation means you should be killed and eaten. Got it.

          Glad we can agree.

        • +1

          Correct.

Cows are for milking and eating.

      • this sounds more like a reason to eat people

I think you have the words Connoisseur and Abbatoir confused.

    RIP matcha 😭

I have never (and possibly will never again) love an ice cream flavour like I loved chocolate honey nougat. That shit was lit, and now it's no longer available. I feel personally wounded by Connoisseur. The others are excellent icecream, but my disappointment is tangible when comparing anything to the glory of choc honey nougat.

Does anyone else remember this flavour?

  • Bring back Rum and Raisin you #%$&s

    • Coles make a top quality Rum & Raisin ice-cream - $5 per litre

  • What happened to matcha/green tea?

    • +2

Sales numbers were too low but so was the level of Matcha in the ice cream. I normally mixed Matcha powder in with it.

        Too sweet

  • Underrated - Vanilla Caramel Brownie

Although nothing beats Peters? (light yellow tub) French Vanilla and Ice magic drool

  • I miss the Matcha too :( if you haven't tried the Woolworths 1L tubs I'd highly recommend them, peanut butter is the bomb!

  • White chocolate with raspberry is very underrated, but also very sweet if that's not your thing.

    • Yeah you can only really have a few spoonfuls at a serving

Brings back childhood memories of opening up the tub of Home Brand neapolitan in the freezer, only to find ALL the strawberry left and no chocolate or vanilla whatsoever.

    • “Marge, we need more chocolate/vanilla/strawberry ice cream!”

Although when we were kids in my family it was vanilla left.

    • Gees I wish I lived in your house. Strawberry was the best flavour!

  • Back in the 1990's, before they were owned by big business, Cafe Grande was by far the best thing they made. Over the years, the chocolate coated almonds shrunk in size to less than 1/4 of the original volume and are covered with crappier chocolate. The ice cream is now less coffee flavoured and has way too much sugar and the sauce swirl is more like jam, rather than liqueur with a bit of bite.

Cookies and cream isn't what it used to be either, but it's still OK.

Vanilla used to be a bit richer and more aromatic, but the current incarnation is probably still the best vanilla ice cream available from the supermarket.

  • Chocolate obsession was my mums favourite, I didn't think it would have been that unpopular to have been discontinued..

    • I suppose they think Belgian Chocolate is a close enough substitute. And they don't want to carry two choc flavours. I used to alternate between them anyway in the past - and don't feel the loss that much.

  • All the caramel ones are my favourites.

Used to love cookies and cream but had it all the time and now it just gives me a taste boost overload which is sometimes nice but these days I like a slow burn of goodness which the caramel ones provide if you drink it with milk.

But yeah cookies and cream was the og and was awesome when they brought the new flavours out.

Wish they brought a coffee flavour enhancer based on their ice cream range like a syrup or something.

Right now aldi has a good expressi syrup range gonna try the coles home brand and bickfords next or maybe even some desserts toppings to add to milk and the cappuccino sachets.

  • I bought cafe grande because of this post. Big mistake
