  • Wasnt q60 a significant downgrade on last years model?
I am waiting for the repeat of sony 9500g for a 1k more. That's a tv worth comparing to oled technology but more suitable for brighter everyday situations.

If anyone is wondering videopro is $2970.
Personally I would pop next door and get videopro to price match so I donā€™t give my money to Gerry GST Harvey.

    • $ 2970 doesnt include delivery and wall mount installation. They can total upto $300-400 depending on where you live.

Regarding Gerry!!! I am with ya!!

      • Oh … that Garry …!!! Yes with you šŸ˜€

  • This model is edge lit

  • I've got the last of the old Panasonic 65" Plasmas. It's been an awesome TV, excellent on movies and sport, but it's time to head north to 75 inches (or even 82/85) Is the Q60R an okay upgrade to the Pana or should I really be looking at an OLED? Movies in darkened conditions is my main viewing experience.

  • wall mount looks nice, but doesn't that make it difficult to get to the inputs on the back of the TV later? Do you have to plug them in as you mount them and hope you don't need to unplug or plug new devices in later? Or hope they share the same plugs?

Also, it will make the screen smaller since it will be further away than if it was sitting on a table.

    • correct,
this is why you need to get a wallmount that sits a bit further away from the wall,
some people just want it flat against the wall as much as possible though.
can also get some right angle cables.

I've got the 55" version mounted on a double arm swivel bracket. Makes it easy to angle it out, plug something in and then move it back. Honestly I think people are crazy to use a fixed bracket these days, so much hassle anytime you need to change anything.

This one, but they have the same style for 75" plus too: https://www.selby.com.au/37-60in-slimline-full-motion-brackeā€¦

      • when it goes straight in, is there a gap between the panel and the wall? Assuming the back of the TV is flat of course, and not part of it sticking out.

        • Probably inch gap between the wall and the tv, give or take, assuming it's not angled.

    • WE just had this TV mounted on a Sanus simplicity mount. We can easily access the cable points etc as the mount is flexible. The TV does sit a few inches away from the Wall but you do have the option of tilting your TV downwards or sideways which is pretty handy.

You can get the mount from Costco AU for some $85-90

FYI - We got the exact same TV on the above mount and it looks great and is a great TV. We got the TV for $50 extra a few weeks ago and had to pay $250 for wall mount installation so we paid some $300 more but not regretting it :)

    • Have a look at Kogan. They do a full motion bracket for $39+ delivery. I've been using it on my 65" OLED and have no complaints.
