BUPA "Emergency-Only" Ambulance Cover V SA Ambulance

A SA Senior neighbour asked me to search for Ambulance Cover after having a lot of chest pain and difficulty in breathing.

  • BUPA: $39.90 No Waiting - Cover starts: day you buy.

  • SA AMBULANCE: $87.00 Wait two months, from day you buy, before cover begins.

Is there any reason she shouldn't buy BUPA? BUPA uses same provider of Ambulances (SAAS)

Triage (Not whose cover you have) determines who gets an Ambulance.

    • You do not have to pay rates in Queensland for the free cover you only need to be a resident. How many 2yr old kids pay rates?

  • Even more for interstate cover in SA ambulance. Something to consider if you traveling interstate.

I don't think any seniour would be a BUPA fan - BUPA nursing homes are responsible for far more their share of horror stories..

So your neighbour is having "chest pain and difficulty in breathing." and your first thought was to get on OzB…

    • Maybe it was just a ploy to get IVI to leave before they got a lecture about Molten Salt Reactors.

  • I have bupa ambulance cover. I have used it 2 times without any issues.
