This one has very low fill weight in comparison, not especially warm. Might as well get a microfibre jacket.

@redcreek200: Having owned many jackets, the difference is nearly negligible, especially at the packing rate macpac has. Given the negatives of poorer water performance and significant drying times, it's only good when paired with a rain jacket over the top. Unless you are simply in a cold, rainless, windless environment.

Not sure? Is there a problem? I was after a down jacket, was looking at Macpac but everyone has one, looked at kathmandu but was too expensive, UniQlo was low quality, found Superdry jacket that looked the same as the kathmandu one but was $30 cheaper and better fitting with elastic at the bottom. What's the issue?
I would have thought that everyone wears kathmandu or macpac or northface, so would be nice to have a slight change and save money? IMO the puffer jackets look mostly the same anyway.

You most likely got downvoted (not by me) for telling people you bought a bargain down jacket, but linking to a polyester jacket instead (which is only available in XXL).
@cobberboy: I bought in store, of which there was all sizes. Down jackets were also there, and if you prefer the style, only $40 more than Macpac. I can understand down vs polyester, thanks for pointing out - polyester is better for general use if will be used in rain, faster drying, almost equal warmth etc.

How do these jackets fit? I bought a Tommy Hilfiger jacket in large and it was swimming on me.
They run large so they fit ok with layering. If you’re just wearing a thin shirt underneath you should size down.
I got one of these, its a pretty solid jacket, quite lightweight and I would say on par with the halo jacket, I preferred this as it has a hoody, helps on the days it rains or is super windy
205g fill weight for Halo. 88g for this.
I find its quite good - light weight aspect plays well into it 290g vs 540g for the weight of the jacket
Depends if you want it for evenings on the mountain, or Uber driving.

Only with several layers on the inside, better off getting the halo.

Down isn't waterproof, harder to dry too.
