  • Why is it called a cricket ground?

  • Do they get you to clean up the rubbish?

Been to this previously, its on every year, a couple of notes:

    • The field, particularly the goal squares at each end are under constant bombardment from footys. be careful taking little kids or anyone to the goalsquare because you'll get hit by stray footies.

    • The rest of the field is covered in dads playing kick to kick with their kids. One year I was there and there were families turning up with a blanket to have a picnic. After the fifith footy landed on them within the first 20 seconds they got really angry and annoyed.

    • On this same theme, dont take your elderly grandma onto the field, she'll get hit by footys. Sometimes the people doing the kicking are not aiming, they are just terrible kicks.

    • Good luck taking your own stumps and trying to play cricket. once again I was there one year and a bunch of guys tried to setup in the middle and play some cricket. Every time they tried to bowl they were interrupted by footys or kids and dads running across the wicket. People arent going to respect your game of cricket, they are going to kick footys right through your game.

    • You dont need to get a photo with he cup, we just went along to have a kick and a look and we didnt pay a cent. The year we went you could go down into the changing rooms. You could see the honour boards down in the rooms for the famous cricketers and even the ice baths and press room where they interview the coach etc.
