Just $39 for $100 worth of ANY Food & Drinks at The Carron Hotel, Spencer St! VIC

11

I know it's scoopon, it would be better if it's not but the others don't have many of these, cause if they did I would've bought it. But can't beat the value!

For those who hasn't bought group buy deals, this is the kind you should try and buy.
They are usually very good value for money.

Great for friday night drinks. I know my BF spend loads on drinks with mates on fridays.
I'm sure $100 will last a while.

$100 could get 4 main and a drinks if u want a cheap dinner with some friends. That's $10 each, chinese food would cost u more!

Having read the forum, there seems to be a lot of complaints about Scoopon. I can't recommend this.

  • Its still limited considering the amounts they sell.
also ppl have had good exp with some deals.

personally i think food ones are ok i wouldn't touch any of the salon, cleaning or car deals what so ever.

but this one does have more flexiblity in terms of not just a 2 ppl deal.

I would not buy a scoopon deal - they don't background check who they are selling, most of the time the featured business is going "out of business" - food ones are definitely NOT ok either, l wouldn't touch any of them.

      Buyer beware!!!

"Most of the time", eh? What a load of rubbish.

I've bought plenty, and have generally been very happy.

Also, if they do go out of business - there was one I was going to that burned down, and a couple have closed - you get a refund. Never had an issue.

Any danger of actual, useful information?

      • Absolutely incorrect with no evidence to back it up.

There are a lot of complaints about Scoopon in the group buy discussion deal, correct. The majority of the complaints are about the same venue and if you count the complaints of Scoopons to the amount of total Scoopons, it's a small percentage.

An similar example. The amount of complaints on Whirlpool regarding ISPs like TPG and Exetel would give you a perspective that they are terrible companies. Put in perspective with a large sample size via the yearly Whirlpool Survey, 70% of their respective customers would recommend their ISP. 95% of Exetel customers are either happy or OK with the reliability of thier connection, 71% with TPG. Point being, what you hear on the forums there for ISPs is the bad stories. What you hear on OzBargain for group buy vouchers is the bad stories.

  • "Bookings can only be made 14 July 2011"

Is that a typo or does it mean what it says?

  • I think people are over dramatising. Have had one poor experience out of maybe 50, and my money was refunded.

Read the fine print and any reviews for the restaurant/cafe online before you buy.

I would agree to steer clear of the car service type deals as they will rip you off on oil etc.
