Grabbed a pizza spatula for myself today. It was great quality and worked well because it's large enough to pick up a pizza and is sturdy so didn't bend when picking it up.

How would a spatula not work well?

      A few things:
      a) it's not big enough to fit under a whole pizza
      b) you end up with pizza on the floor because it bends too much under load

          Because it did?

Confirm that I saw this at Weston in Canberra the other day, apologies for not posting.

If there's enough stock they'll reduce it further. It seems to be a line that they carry and delete quickly?

    • I believe so. I went looking for it in the kitchen section where they usually have their utensils but they were actually in a 'Specials Section' according to the customer rep.

Looks like they dropped again overnight to about 75% off (3.50 for most things), well online anyway

Is the online price different to in-store?

      • Looks like online price applies, got a spatula for $4.50 was marked at $7

    • The steak knives look like a good price too

      • Think again. I bought a packet last year in a similar clearance and they are mediocre. They don't cut that well, and after I washed them they started to rust, the only way to avoid it is drying them straight away. Not even cheap knives from asian groceries have that problem

    • At that price it's a bargain. I stocked up about 6 months ago

    Thanks OP.

Got a thermometer for 3.5 and shears for 2.

Shears seems to be well built.

Iffy about the thermometer though, my testing method of freezer and boiling water ain't that precise, but the temps seems a bit off. But good enough for ball park cooking.

    • What matters also is the speed of the reading of the thermometer, most cheap ones take a while to figure out the temperature. Altitude also affects the boiling/freezing point of water.
