  • Interesting price.

  • This brand decent enough to spruce up an old MacBook or worth the extra for a Kingston or crucial ?

    • +1

You won’t feel the difference, and the old MacBooks probably have a SATA II interface, hence little to no difference between Kingston, Crucial or Gigabyte, theoretically speaking.

      • So,…how old ( or new ) is your MacBook?

        • +1

I have a few macs but the one I’m thinking of is an old core 2 duo 2009 pro 13in still on an old disc drive. Actually runs pretty well considering it’s age, it’s only for occasional web / Netflix / DVD player for my kid.

@Bargearse: Wow, that 13" MacBook has a DVD built in, pretty rare for a 13" laptop, let alone a Mac.

Any Sata SSD would work wonders in that model and really improve speed and give it a breath of new life.

Unless you have cloned OS before or done fresh installs, I find it easier to get a Samsung or SanDisk SSD as that comes with cloning/maintenance software included and makes easy work of it as long as you have a external usb hhd case & cable or a hhd sata to usb cable to attach the SSD hhd to clone before swapping out the hhd.

Would be well worth it as a nice running MacBook is timeless :-)

@ozhunter68: @ozhunter68 thanks for the tips.

I’ve replaced a few before on newer machines, haven’t heard of that brand before though. Reviews state not as good as the bigger brand names but would still be fine for an ol’ macbook I’m sure.

Pretty impressed with its capabilities for a 10yr old machine!

ive been using shirt pockets SuperDuper for cloning hard drives and found it to be very reliable.

  • TLC or QLC?

  • that looks exactly like the samsung one lol did they just rebrand it?

  • Bought a handful to upgrade old pc’s. Cheers

Good deal but sold out since 1.53 pm!

  • Hey guys noob here on installing a SSD onto my desktop.
Is there a tutorial somewhere I can learn how to install a second SSD onto my desktop?

    • Second SSD? Simply connect the SATA data and power cables and close the lid.

      • Anything to change in bios?

        • It should pick up the new drive automatically, but it ultimately depends on how old and how functional is the BIOS. You might also bneed to initialise and format the SSD in Windows.

And you won't be booting from this second SSD, but you know that already, don't you?

          • @alvian: Yep it will boot from from 1st SSD not 2nd one. It's just for storage purpose.
            Thanks!

  • Gamer Girls say size does not matter, but trust me, they ain't using no 120GB SSD.
