      Not saying this year will be the same but there were absolutely no PS4 Pro deals last year around xmas/boxing day. Sales were only on slim. Something might come up around the Nov 29 Black Friday sale or Dec 2 Cyber Monday Sale.

          Not sure about historical low. Would be close to it. There was a sale around a couple of weeks before xmas which I wished I had purchased then but speaking from experience last year I would not hold out for a boxing day sale on this.

        Um… I own XB1X (and PS4 Pro) and honestly, it is unwise to get too attached to the UHD blu-ray support once the new consoles are available.

        Most UHD blu-ray movies aren't true 4K anyway.

      No it won’t. PS5 will launch in about a year. PS4 will still see Death Stranding, FFVII Remake, TLoU 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 (Ghost of Tsushima looking like a cross gen game) before that time comes. The next year has an insane lineup. And with 100 million PlayStation 4’s and counting sold, it will be supported for years to come. PlayStation hardware has held its value particularly well this gen too.

      I traded in my PS3 slim and all my games at EB in 2018 and got a good trade value, so no the PS4 will not be worthless anytime close to soon.

        I got mine replaced with a v2 pro due to noisy fan. Although mine went from quiet enough to shocking so probably did need replacing. Another $35 shopback credit from the re-purchase (that was how they had to do the warranty since exact same item wasn't available any more).

            @HandsomeMonkey: I had a CUH-7000 Pro replaced under warranty for an excessively loud fan. Sony was really good about it, the whole process was very quick and easy. I just bought a CUH-7200 to replace a 7100 which was pretty noisey at times (but nowhere near as bad as the 7000), and it is so much quieter.

              @aja12: That's cool. I still have my CUH-700 model and Yes Battlefield 5 make it sound like a Jet engine so I only play it with airconditioning turned on. BTW I'm in Darwin so the hot weather made it worse.

            @HandsomeMonkey: Yes. I didn't use it much (50 hours maybe). Turned it on after sitting idle for months and I was like "well, that fan is going to die soon" and RMA'd it.

            It was a fortnite bundle unit and Amazon wouldn't just send me a new un-bundled pro, they could only send the exact same bundle which doesn't exist any more. So the way they did it (I really had to push my consumer rights for replacement through the retailer) was they refunded me then adjusted the purchase price of a new 7200 series so I wasn't out of pocket. But I used shopback to buy the replacement. So I got a little extra refund that way.

      Just grab the 1TB slim deal with 3 games - God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn and uncharted or bloodborne for a great deal with some of the best games of this generation. The extra money you might have spent on a Pro can go towards a PS5 in a couple of years.

    Can't find any info anywhere else, probably should start up a separate discussion about this but … Looks like Big W has removed team discounts from gaming hardware.
    Add any sort of gaming hardware (consoles) to your cart online and it kills the discount off. Possibly just a bug, but anyone else can confirm this?

      Depends on the games you like. I bought PS4 for their exclusives. Thoroughly enjoyed completing Spider-man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, The Last of us (normal and grounded mode) and every Uncharted game

    It is starting today.

    EBGames also has this deal but at $489. Big W Eastland (VIC) did not exactly advertise this in their shop but you do have to ask them about it.

    Then EBGames dropped the bombshell at me. EBGames DOES NOT price match on console and thus unable to match the PS4 Pro Bundle Fortnite at $429

    They used to do this but must have changed their policy and didn't tell their members and here I was, traded in many of my old stuffs so I could get this but lo and behold, they don't price match anymore.

    So get them at Big W and screw EBGames. I had no choice but to get it from EBGames because of my gift cards from all of my past trade-ins.

    That's a lesson for me.

    PS: For EBGames, It's $489 for all bundles but Big W only offers Fortnite bundle. So instead, I got Kingdom Hearts 3 and Overwatch and PS4 Pro bundle. On a flip side, since I had to pay for the difference, then technically the product would get extra 1 year warranty compared if I had to pay them all with gift cards.

      Just the capacity of the drive. I bought the 500Gb slim and put in a 1TB SSD.
      So now it's like a 1TB Slim, but with faster loading times (almost half in some cases)

          ahh.. i bought through BigW online directly, not through ebay. Also, i got the slim bundle, so those may have made a drifference. NFI if BigW has an online fulfilment centre or if they just take stuff off store shelves.

          Hpefully it gets to you quick. This'll be my first console since the PS2 days (PCMR yo!), so i'm pretty keen to see how things are now.
