Good deal. Hope the link works. Had some trouble loading the site on my tablet (it usually lets me load as desktop but wouldn’t this time) so I just put the www in but it didn’t work for me.

I recently purchased 2 Xiaomi xiaofang 2s cameras and they have the geo blocking now where if the cameras are outside of mainland China they have the geo blocking affect the cameras , might not be the case for this particular pan and tilt one but thought it would be useful information before you decide what camera to buy

    • Good call. Mine only stopped working after I updated to the latest firmware. The ones I didn't bother to still work but now take much longer to bring up the live stream. I did read somewhere that you can get them working again by flashing back an older firmware but was unsuccessful when I tried.

Those still works if you register those with the very special mainland server, but you know, it is special for some reason

    • +1

My 2 work perfectly fine on the latest firmware and app :/

I had some of the xiaofang cameras. Noticed one day they started turning by themselves… it was creepy…
    Disconnected them ever since.

    • +2

Yes, smart idea avoiding any internet connected products by Xiaomi.

      • +5

Could be said the same with other products that uses internet. He probably turns it with his mobile without realising it. Do you think you're important enough for Xiaomi or the Chibese Government to bother watching you?

        • +3

… Or neighborhood or Aus/US Gov Intel hackers perhaps. If Macbooks, TVs, modems, and of course most other internet enabled hardware and software, and probably cars, are hackable, why suspect chinese firms alone. American Intel are by far more intrusive to my knowledge.

I assume a russian/chinese world dominance is replacing the west's recent days stranglehold, so get over the 'don't trust the chinese' media spin. Chinese domination is growing and here to stay. At least it seems obvious to me.

We were all having dinner. No one turned on the mobile app.
Not any government, more likely hackers or thief or perverts.

  • Any experience with their free 7 day cloud storage?

  • They are good cameras but the issues are slow loading, must be mainland China region

  • -2

just be aware those xiaomi's stuff are made for mainland china, they are supposed to only exist there, so consider this before you buy. If Xiaomi don't officially sell it overseas, I dont recommand use them. Who knows what is in the software/firmware

    Fun facts:
every soldier (more than 15000+) participated in the natinal day parade got a free Xiaomi Tablet

  • Anybody can recommend alternatives..? Ones that dont need connection to Mainland China server through the app?

    • Get wyze cam V2 or wyze cam pan. Bought 2 from Amazon and they are amazing little cams. Check out YouTube see reviews

      • Thanks just purchased this the v2 with extra sensors, Amazon has a good deal https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07R3H3N97/

      • +2

The amazon wyze ones look exactly like the xiaofang ones popular on here. Are they different at all? My xiaofang doesn’t work anymore..

        • Yeah they are. Update it to the latest firmware and disable fanghacks if you use it.

        • They might use the same stuff as the xiaofang but the software that goes into it is very different. Definitely try get it from Amazon au or Amazon us

      • +1

Wyze are good. But be careful not to accidentally buy Xiaomi versions that are “marketed” as Wyze. They look identical. Give away is the “too good to be true” price (Wyze is from US and cost a lot more) and the reviews.

        • Yep upvoted for this comment. Plenty of very peed off customers who got scammed by dodgy Amazon sellers, judging by their reviews

  • +3

I got 3 of these cameras. Fantastic for the price. They worked fine in Australia but need to select China as the location in app. No issues whatever’s. Also these aren’t xiaofang!

  • Just buy wyze cam pan tilt from amazon much better and similar price

  • I got 2 Xiaofang, 2 Dafang and 2 of the above. All working fine using China server with the latest firmware.

  • Do these actually have cloud storage? xiaomi website doesn't say anything

    • Similar models have the ability to save the recording to network shares like your windows share or NAS.

Not sure about this particular model. Not available on XiaoFang or DaFang

  • I have the Xiaomi one that links with Google home can't remember model number. Buy that instead if you don't wanna be locked out like we all were with the first gen ones.

    • First gens are no longer locked out! Been that way for over a year now.

      • My one was. Got unlocked and said it was connecting , connected for thirty seconds then froze. Followed their advice on forums. No dice.

  • This model says it works with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa
    https://www.mi.com/global/camera-360

    'Mi Home Security Camera 360°1080P'

Model number seems to be MJSXJ02CM though it is not listed on that product page.

This seems to be the only camera listed on the Xiaomi Global website under the smart devices section.

  • Coupon code says "It can only be used 800 times"

  • Coupon code says "It can only be used 800 times"

  • Is it possible to just flash these Xiaomi ones with the Wyse firmware given that they appear to be the same hardware?

  • Can anyone recommend some good POE Wired Surveillance cameras? Indoor and outdoor. Dont want xiaomi for this particular job ;)

  • Thanks OP bought one to replace my Xiaofang that got locked by latest firmware update

  • Code not working for me.
