    Expect new prices to be higher than earlier now that the AUD is at it's worst vs the USD in 10 years.

      Yeah, it's been floating around the $520 mark for a while, best I've seen for an AU model was ~ $480. Tis' what it is.

    These robot ones are last gen. The latest ones now have docks with built in vacuum and storage space, so you only need to empty the bin once every month.

      You are correct in that this S50 model is last gen as the Xiaomi Roborock S6 is 3rd (and current) gen. The S6 does not have a 'self-emptying' dock. In fact, none of the Xiaomi robots do.
      Only the Roomba i7+ ($1799 @Harvey Norman), s9+ and one Shark branded robot vacuum have this new kind of 'self-emptying' dock. But for the price of one Roomba i7+, you can get 3x S50's ;)

    How does it compare to the xiaowa e35? It's much cheaper

      Very different feature set. Biggest is S50 uses laser/infrared to navigate, E35 is a random algorithm bot (bounces off walls). Second biggest is S50 has a mopping/wet wiping feature, where the E35 is vacuum only.

    Any sub $340 1st Gen models? 2nd gen isn't really worth it. Mopping seems average and suction only slightly better.

    What is an "AU version"? Is is simply shipped from Australia, with an Australian plug? How does this compare to buying from AliExpress with an AU plug besides the slower delivery?

      It's basically the S5 without the moping function from what I have inferred. I don't know how much better the detection on the S5 gen 2 is compared to Gen 1 but I doubt it's significant, and the added 200pa of suction isn't that significant, so then at that point you might as well just buy a gen 1 it seems.
