Aldi Skis Reduced to $199, Poles $19.99, Epping Plaza [MELB] - Maybe Others Too

60

Saw these reduced at Aldi (previously skis were $299, poles $29.99). I had already bought some at full price a few weeks back so I bought another set now so I can return them with my full price receipt….and save $110 in the process. There was only 8-10 sets left at Epping Plaza as of closing time Thursday night, but other Aldi stores might have some also.

If you bought some a few weeks back, worth a look at your local Aldi to see if they are reduced so you can do the old switcheroo like I did. Doesn't matter if they don't have your correct size any more, just get any pair and return the same pair with your old receipt as the size is not shown on the receipt.

Forgot to take a photo but my receipt is attached, http://upload.ozbargain.com/2011/07/14/6305_dsc02688.jpg

The skis actually look pretty decent, made in Austria, possibly by Blizzard according to forums. Hope to give them a run soon.

  • Yes saw these reduced at doncaster east (vic) too! Shame they dont sell snowboards too!

  • They do sell snowboards. Reduced to $249.

Well, they were this afternoon at Arndell Park NSW…

    • Wasn't the board going for $200? Did you mean reduced to $149 now?

    • WOW! I wonder if there are any in VIC? Have been to 3 in VIC so far with no luck :(

  • Some stock left here at Baulkham Hills and North Rocks NSW

I'm thinking I might grab a pair to learn skiing on. I know boarding so i might try this

  • +2

I bought a belt-holstered saw to keep under my coat. Thanks, Aldi!

  • how much will it cost to bring the ski gears to NZ with me on the same flight?

    • Try ebay.. much better stuff there

  • Wow.. for a bit more you can get proper brands like Rossignol skis.. Also with snowboards $300 delivered for a Trusnow Sierra Reverse Crew.. Trusnow.com

Guys… don't be cheapasses when it comes to snow gear.. this is hardly a deal given the prices you can get for decent gear from the US..

    • yeh my friend was telling me about that site, they have some amazingly cheap and awesome gear there! i dont think i would buy boots there though, cause i want them properly fitted, but their jackets and pants and stuff, amazing

    • Depends what you mean by "for a bit more". The cheapest skis I see on Trusnow are about $220 + $75 delivery, and that does not include bindings, which are at least another $150 + delivery. The Aldi skis are $199 with bindings and would be similar quality to the cheaper skis on Trusnow. If you want to be a brand snob, go ahead, but the Aldi skis will do me just fine I reckon.

  • Was at East Doncaster ALDI (Pines) at 9.45 am and picked up a pair of ski's for $199. Still three pairs left then.

  • Was at Top Ryde ALDI (NSW) earlier today and they have a dozen or so ski sets (mostly small sizes - 150cm & 160cm but spotted one pair of 170cm). Also 5 or 6 snowboards and at least 20 sets of poles (various sizes).
