    If you want to play with friends or with mods, don't buy this. No-one else in my gaming circle has the windows version of minecraft.

      Consoles, iPad, etc all are bedrock edition and hence compatible with Windows edition of Minecraft.

      Plenty of mods/addons/etc available. Free and paid. Not as extensive as the Java version, but still heaps of fun. Getting better all the time.

    What is the latest the Java edition has ever been for Australia users?

    I have the Windows 10 edition got it from kinguin for about $5 AUD and used it only once.

      I think the windows 10 edition is more like the Xbox and minecraft pocket editions. I have it on Xbox, pc ($0.99 offer ages ago) and android. They seem similar. Never had java edition as don't program.

        Java version is just how it was made, you don't need to program to play it.

        Java version was the original Minecraft, but it's been adapted to so many other paltforms since. This Windows 10 version above (aka Bedrock) will let you play with Xbox one, Nintendo switch, Android and IOS players who also have their specific version of Minecraft Bedrock.

        The Bedrock version is more heavily commercialised than the java version. Most mods, game types, new texture packs, etc are paid for on the Minecraft market place. Limited online servers, but heavily curated and monitored by Microsoft or their partners.

        The java version is infinitely more customisable, with the vast majority of mods being free. However if you're serious about the modding side you'd want to be a little computer savvy as some mods might require a little more effort to get up and going. It also won't talk with other versions of Minecraft, only java, but there are thousands of servers to play on.

    The Java version isn’t compatible with crossplay. I’ve got the Windows 10 version and can join worlds with my kids on the iPad. They can join my world on the PC as well.

    Am I not reading something correctly here? It comes up as 2.74 EUR for me which is $4.46. Discount applied and everything.

    $4.46 is not a historic low for Minecraft Win 10. What have I done wrong?

    Edit: what a weird experience. Just tried again and it came up as A$2.35 (I really should have taken a screenshot of the 2.74 EUR because I used the same link and that's what it showed before). Cool went to pay in paypal, logged in, confirmed the bank card to pay, and when it went back to the site it said out of stock. Hope they don't charge me.
