    • Dine-In only

    • Dine in only; not available for takeaway, via online ordering or Uber Eats.

      • 2 for 1 burgers and no hustling you for drinks / sides. That is bad business sense.

    • Thanks all, after registering I got a barcode coupon sent to my registered email. Used the barcode in store when I ordered without issues :)

Lol go on save the planet

Remember that October when a person and their imaginary friend pretended to support a charity to get 16 burgers for $20? Pepperidge Farm remembers…

    • Never knew it’s that cheap when buy for charity.

  • Have to use the app or have the newsletter email with the voucher.

Additions don't count towards the offer, so the second burger will also have an additional cost if you order 2 with an addition.

I’m not a vegan, but I eat these every few weeks. They’re really tasty!

    • But, is this a good deal?

It's a start - it doesn't need to be perfect instantaneously.

    • +8

Cool list. I find it interesting to see how they create these. :)

But what was really your point? Did you expect someone to be able to simulate a beef patty using only a single plant-based ingredient or something?

By the same logic, would you expect to be able to simulate coconuts or peas using a single meat-based ingredient?

In either case, I can't think of any magic ingredient that would work in that way.

    • +3

They pump the animals with all kinds of hormones and feed them all kinds of junk as well.

      • Cocy you can copy and make a fortune if you know the secret herbs and spices that make it take so delicious !

    • +7

And the grill'd beef patty has 12+
      beef mince
      diced tomato (50%)
      sugar
      onions
      vinegar
      tomato paste

What the (profanity) was your point?

This is like that dumb lady who says if a fourth grader can't pronounce the name of a chemical she won't eat it

    • Thanks; I wanted to check which ingredients are in these :)

    • And not one of those single ingredients tastes like a cow on its own. I believe the term is "Magic"

and they call it healthy burger! What a joke of company.

  • +1

Grill'd: the only place you're expected to move a bottle cap from one location in the shop to another, each time you order. They believe that making customers perform this action, somehow reinforces the charity-giving vibe of the business. They could just put a sign up saying they donate X dollars to charity, but instead they make customers move bottle caps into plastic containers. It's so lame. I got sick of doing it, and tried to decline the bottle-cap game, the girl gave me a weird look and said "but it's for charity"!

      Jeez you sound fun.

      • -2

And you sound fun too, what with your comment about fun and all.

    • +1

      This is pretty funny TBH

    • +1

better than denying the climate, lol

    • I've been saying "no thanks" to them for 10 years with no issues.

  • +1

Thank you op. Scored 1+1 for takeaway.

  • +7

Good deal though I Would rather try a Tegridy Burger.

  • Thanks OP might try tonight.

  • Not vegan. I’d be curious to try though. I eats dahl and stir-fry etc sometimes as meals when out, why not this? No need to get panties in a twist over. Two for one sounds reasonable - if it’s crap it’s crap, if it’s good it’s good.

    • It's not really like eating dahl or lentils.
It's made from pea protein and a tonne of oil, the rest of the ingredients are binding agents and flavouring.

I like the way it tastes, but it doesn't sit well.
Better to eat real ingredients but I'd still choose a Beyond burger every now and then. The taste and texture is quite pleasant and unique.
Obviously any vegetarian food has ethical benefits over meat as well.

The latest Southpark was talking about this exact product. Their solution? Tegridy burgers! (*edit, looks like I was beaten to it a few posts up. )

But for those who care, these are not healthy products.

    https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/impossible-burger-or-b…

The challenge here is that these offerings aren’t actually any healthier. The Impossible Whopper, for instance, not only has comparable caloric and fat levels as its meat-based counterpart, but it has more salt per serving; the Del Taco options are comparable. The Impossible Slider has more calories, more fat and more sodium than the meaty original (before you add cheese to either).

In fact, when you start to compare all of these offerings to their meat-based counterparts, you realize it’s the same story no matter what brands you’re talking about — you might possibly save a few calories or carbs, but you'll probably get way more salt.

    • Who says they were supposed to be healthy? i think you're missing the point entirely.

  • +2

    OK i tried it

    was pretty disgusting

an hour later and i feel gross and regretting it

Grilled is a decent place, but this beyond crap is not good.

  • +1

This business is so scattershot… They were selling 'bunny burgers' for easter and now this… they are trying to appeal to everyone but disgust meat and non-meat eaters. …Can't stop thinking about the 3-year traineeships staff were put on to legalise the otherwise under-award hourly pay.

  • Deal extended until Dec 30.

  • I don't like meat and I don't like this 😆 thanks Grill'd 🙏

  • +9

Wonder if the extension is in response to https://www.theage.com.au/topic/grill-d-investigation-1nce

    • +1

I think the extension was announced a while ago.
But I think the Amex offer might be related to those articles

      • ah, ok thanks for the clarification

    • +2

Yup. They’ve engaged PR people as soon as they got a whiff of the newspapers digging around.

  • +1

Thanks op! does anyone know if this stacks with the amex going on? would be good for small group

    • yep, wioll definitely stack

  • Thanks OP 😀

  • +11

I hope people are aware these guys are currently being investigated for underpayment of staff even though they charge ridiculously for their burgers.

  • +2

Looks like they are going above and BEYOND to rip off their workers!

  • Is it me or has the quality gone down lately?

I loved these when they first came out. I've been getting them every week and they don't seem as good anymore.

Maybe I'm just tired of them haha.

Grill'd owners have been accused of underpaying staff and one owner even forged his business partner's signature in order to get a liquor licence.

    Avoid this company.

    https://www.watoday.com.au/business/companies/grill-d-co-fou…

    • -4

Your logic makes no sense. Avoid the company because they underpaid their staff, but by avoiding the company, that same staff might lose their job.

      • +1

Yours makes no sense either. Avoiding the company and taking your business elsewhere creates jobs elsewhere. People don't stop eating altogether because they are grumpy at one vendor.

  • +1

    https://www.smh.com.au/business/companies/grill-d-over-the-c…

Poor food safety and under paying staff.
No thanks. No longer a customer.

  • pretty handy to stack with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500010 also

  • +1

Apart from the underpayment and exploitation of young vulnerable workers, there are reports of unhygienic food handling practices and forging of liquor licenses at Grilld. The first reason alone is enough to boycott Grilld. No deal is worth suffering from food poisoning.

    • plus their burger taste crap

      • they taste okay, i've had some okay burgers there, chips just ok… not my fav chips, they tried to reinvent chips. I still ate them.

        too many in melbourne.

    • I got food poisoning from a maccas salad once. It was in middle of nowhere on hume highway. Doesn't mean all mcdonalds will have contaminated salad, or bad staff.
