Yes it does not originate from Australia but considering how there are some cheap flights between Australia and Singapore to be had, this might be of help to someone. And it is also a direct flight!

Bookable on SQ website as well.

As a comparison, I tried doing a dummy booking of PER to LAX, in mixed class (PER to SIN leg is in economy) comes up as $3466.

Maybe add to the title that it’s a return ticket?

  • Absolutely baffling why you would fly an extra 8 hours from (for example) Melbourne to Singapore and then 15 hours from Singapore to LAX, when you can just fly direct Melbourne to LAX in ~16 hours.

Probably because not everyone lives on the east coast? As OP clearly mentioned, he was looking for PER-LAX. The quickest flying east would be via AKL (19h35m), via SIN can be done in 21h45m (but with a tight stopover). Not bad if you want to combine it with a holiday in or around Singapore, flying PE on a A350 is quite a nice experience.

    • Or you just love to fly…

why would you go to LA unironically?

    • To go watch the Lakers?

    • To try to be the next Aussie star in the movies

    • In-N-Out?

or buy Alaskan miles be cheaper or jump up a class, Ive been buying AS miles for years when the 40/50% extra offers are on (about 4 times a year) and using a plethora of International airlines in J (bus.). And joining AS is free and can buy as many miles as you like.

    • You can't book premium economy on SQ using Alaskan.

    • Great tip!!

  • Great deal especially if you can add one of the frequent deals Singapore Airlines does with hotels, hop on hop off bus or something at Changi. Add a couple of days there for a stop over, makes for a fantastic holiday.
