  • I've just installed a Kingston A2000 in mine and can't believe the speed so this is just gonna be crazy. Considering the free game it's a steal.

    • A2000 is good value for money. Pity the price has gone up a bit lately for A2000. For general usage, you won't be able to feel the difference between 970 EVO Plus and this one. You could feel the difference if you copied 400-500GB of data at once, but the source device needs to be an NVMe m.2 SSD though.

  • You could buy this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/490099 and save enough to buy two copies of the game.

    • The Samsung has much better r/w speeds. Afaik it's the pinnacle in NVME M.2 right now.

  • Am I missing something here? 20% off $400 is $320.

    • That's what I get too..

Buy it now price: AU $399.00
      -AU $79.80
      Your price: AU $319.20
Enter code at checkout to redeem. Hurry, your coupon expires 29/10/19. Terms and conditions apply.

Edit: Oh I can see two were sold for $349, now back up to $399.

I still don't have my copy of borderlands from the claim back and it's been three weeks.

    • Samsung cashback is known to take the maximum time as specified in the terms and conditions. If they stated up to 20 or 30 business days, they will take that long.
This particular promotion is a bit weird as it has 2 phases. You submit the claim and get it verified. Once verified, apparently you need to respond to the verification e-mail somehow within certain period of time. Then, Samsung will take some time to send you the voucher code (I am guessing it is a voucher code, rather than the physical version).

      • I've emailed them several times, they don't respond.

        • seriously (profanity) Samsung. here's a copy paste of something I typed up to spread across a few other online forums.

As an avid gamer spending $12K on building 2 new gaming PCs primarily to play Borderlands 3, I was choosing components for my builds. I had chosen a rival's SSD for my PCs until I saw Samsung advertise a promotion for a free copy of Borderlands 3 with each of their SSD's purchased. Looking at their terms and conditions then and factoring the benefit of these games coming free, I gladly paid the extra and bought 2 of their SSDs.

When I went to claim their SSDs, 1 claim went through fine, the other kept being rejected as an invalid serial number.

For the claim that was submitted and successfully validated, I was sent an email referring to their terms and conditions that I'd have a key within 14 days. It is now day 11 and I have yet to receive anything. When calling them up to enquire, they said the email was wrong and that it is now 28 days and that they've changed their terms and conditions…

For the claim that couldn't be submitted, I contacted them and the retailer and discovered that this is a known problem affecting numerous other customers, but not all. Samsung told me a fortnight ago they'd have their systems fixed in a fortnight and would contact me when the claim is ready to be submitted again. Fast forward 11 days, no contact. I called them again only to be told that it would take another 2 or so weeks…

Putting 2 and 2 together, Samsung is now telling me that I have to wait a total of 4 weeks JUST TO SUBMIT a legitimate claim on their admittedly BROKEN claims website. In this time, they've also doubled the waiting period for the game and you guessed it, the waiting period for the game key will only begin after a claim has been submitted and validated.

Samsung, I'm hoping you can address this incompetence swiftly and ensure it never happens again. I will be sure to share my objective account of events everywhere I possibly can, especially amongst gaming and technology enthusiast forums. It seems that in this day and age, running promotions is beyond your capability.

          • @hardwarenick: LOL.. they changed it to 28 days… What a surprise!!! —-> NOT!!! They were super slow on my cashback claim and literally waited till the second last day before wiring the money.

That's why with ANY Samsung promotion requiring them to send you something afterwards, just assume it will take the maximum number of days they are allowed to. Wait at least 1 month is very normal.

The RMA department for warranty is much better though.

        • if you want to waste more of your time hoping for a response, you can call them and speak to their promos team. they are just as pathetic as their social media team.

thanks to these incompetent (profanity), I'm likely going to have to buy 2 copies of BL3 to play now and try to sell the Samsung copies when(if) they arrive.

how funny it would be if they turned around in 2 months from now and said "sorry, no more keys left"

should have just stuck with the A-Data SX8200 SSD instead of this shower shit.

          • @hardwarenick: That's why I have not + voted any of these Samsung deals with the game. My view is that by the time you get the voucher code, the game will be worth less or if you are actually a fan of the series, you will most likely be fed up with how long it takes Samsung to simply e-mail you a code. Either way, if you actually waited for the code, you will not be happy (unless you simply don't want the game, and just want to sell the code).

@netsurfer: I fell for it too. 3 weeks and nothing. Their email said 14 days but when I called they said “that was a typo”. Yeah right.

              • @cnut: I think that in future Samsung promos, we need to link people to this deal and its comments section so they know what they are dealing with.

  • It's now $319.20 after discount.
    How do you get $279.20?
