    Flamin' Hot Twisties

    Fonzies are better…

    • +1

      They’ve jumped the shark.

      • Heeeeyyyy !!!

  • +1

Nice bit of spice to them. Especially compared to the supposedly spicy Doritos.

      • +1

I don't recognise those. The spicey Doritos were called Burn.

        • looks like they just got released, should start seeing them in a few days.

          • +2

@brandogs: Oh that's awesome. The Wasabi Doritos are pretty full on.

            • +3

@Sage: Is it just me, or does Wasabi taste like rubber when you taste a mouthful? Shit burns through your nose like no tomorrow.

              • +3

                @Stormourne:

Shit burns through your nose like no tomorrow.

                That's because it's horseradish

              • @Stormourne: I love them. Eat them by the packet although I do the same for wasabi beans but yes definitely has a distinct burn to it.

            • @Sage: deal?

    • Should have tried the burnt Doritos, got a sore throat after eating that

    • The Burn variety of Doritos were pretty full on… I was impressed, and my heat tolerance is quite a lot higher than most.

I'm hoping that the Flamin Hot range of Doritos on sale now are the same heat level, but I won't be surprised if they're not.

I picked a few packs up on this morning's coffee run… TBH, I almost put them back on the self. It was disappointing to see that Smiths is playing package size shenanigans with their promo ranges. Both the Flamin Hot and Wasabi packs are 20g lighter but the same price. (150g vs the usual 170g) :|

Anyone see the blue tongue Twisties are back too?

  • +3

Why suddenly all doing hot and spicy these days I wonder

    • +8

Not sure.. but I like it.

    • I think this is the beginning of the hot and spicy war.

I liked the Thins limited edition one, might give this a go too

        • +1

The Thins Hot n Spicy chips are surprisingly excellent

          • +1

@h0mbre: I don't find any heat and little other flavour. I'm actually disappointed with them.

      Running out of ideas?
      Immigrants?
Everyone depressed, and using pain to feel alive?

Who knows. Whatever the reason, it works for me.
Have you tried the Hot Skittles? Those things are delicious.

      • Next up hot milk and spicy ice cream.

  • +1

Omg omg omg omg omg omg omg. Thanks for sharing, had no idea.

    • What a disappointment for me. I saw there was Flamin' hot Doritos and got those too, preferred Doritos, went to a different woolies and bought a whole box :D

Worth asking an employee for help. My box was not in the regular chip isle but at the end near the entrance.

  • OMGGG will get this tomorrow. copying cheetos but dont car elol

  • Different topic but… the wasabi Doritos have a different type of spice. Give these twisties a shot, as I will, but don't miss the wasabi. Its different and awesome .

    • Wasabi flavour is normally made with horseradish which gives you the feeling in your nose.

The Doritos look like they are just chill

The ingredients are in order of amounts.

Like most junk foods such as breakfast cereals it mostly consists of grain, which costs almost nothing and tastes crap, so it has high levels of sugar added to it.

    • Allyl isothiocyanate

  • +2

Bet ya this will be so hard to find or all be sold out

  • +2

If you have five minutes, the story of how flamin hot Cheetos came to be is pretty interesting.

    https://thehustle.co/hot-cheetos-inventor/

  • Tried these, tastes very similar to the Cheetos version that woolies has. I didn't like either but I'd say the twisties one is slightly better.

  • Alf enters the chat

  • Plenty of heat but not much flavour.

  • +2

Can I chuck these in the freezer while I'm on this 3 months no junk routine.

Bloody hell, as soon as you say no junk for awhile, you see posts like this.

    • +3

These things will last a year in the cupboard

      • But he only has a freezer yes I assumed he only has a freezer.

  • Do they have a hint of bbq flavour? Found a lot of limited spicy flavour chips just taste like bbq in the end

  • Found one pack. Tastes better than the American Cheetos because these are crunchier and have a lesser chemical taste. There's also Flamin Hot Doritos for $1.74.

  • Same as Wonderboy above.. I only managed to find one lonely pack at my local Woolies. :(

It didn't appear that they'd assigned any shelve space to the variety, it was tossed in amongst the regular cheese flavour packs.

  • Searched my local woolies could not find a pack

  • -2

Went into my local woolies and got these but they were $2?? asked them that it was $1.50 online but said on their system it was $2..

    • I definitely got them for $1.50 and still have the receipt if you want proof. Should be thankful you were able to find them as some users are saying they could only find a couple or none at all.

    • I double checked my receipt, the one pack that I managed to get was definitely $1.50.

Were the regular cheese & chicken flavors also not on sale?

To be honest, I would probably have paid the $2 just for the chance to give them a try.

  • Are these like "Omg. Bird's Eye chillies will kill ya" hot or proper Carolina Reaper hot?

    • +1

More like Aldi chili chips kinda hot.

      • So… stale and with hints of rancid oil?

        Thanks. I'll stay away.

        • +1

Try it. It's basically Flamin' Hot Cheetos… but crunchier.

          • +4

@BadGiraffe: You make a convincing sales pitch. I'll do it.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: @tshow The ALDI CHILLI Potato Chips are quite good, better than Kettle Chilli have been recently
I just hope I can find some of these Twisties they only make some every couple of years

              • @OzzyB2013: I must have got a bad bag.

                • @[Deactivated]: It's not for everyone then. But good on you for trying. Wish I could convince my kid to eat things that easily.

                  • @BadGiraffe: I ate My Dog dog food because they had meat pieces, veggie pieces, triangle pieces… I have never tasted triangle.

          • @BadGiraffe: Do you work in marketing…cause that's simply genius way to put it.

            • +1

@ahly92: I wanted to. Now I just quietly criticise the actual marketing team for their poor attempts at being clever.

  • Can't find stock :(

  • +1

Couldn't find it in melb cbd or camberwell…anywhere in east suburbs?

    • Not In eastern suburbs but at Brunswick there is, 2 dollars though -_-

  • I liked the hot Cheetos in Hawaii, but these were too hot for my liking, and not really a flavour that I liked.
Tasted a little acidic/sour. Color looks completely wrong, unnaturally red.
No one at home liked them.
    Tossed into the bin.

  • Review: same colour, spice is good, missing that lemony zing to it, if they can perfect this would be great…7/10

  • I wasn’t able to find these at Woolies but I found Flamin’ Hot Doritos at Town Hall instead. Currently half price at $1.74 for 150g, so even better deal than the Twisties!

  • Found them at Woolies Marion SA but not at Woolies Brickworks SA. Actually quite hot. Impressive.

  • I can't find these in Boronia or Ferntree Gully! Anyone out this way had any luck elsewhere?

    • At the very least any of your BP service stations will have them. Found them at one in Vermont.

  • Found some Flamin Hot Twisties at IGA Brooklyn Park SA!

    • Ive also seen them at 7-eleven, they had them 2 for $5
