        • +1

    • +4

welp looks like i missed it :(

    • if you need any help with dji stuff i can help. I have 2.

  • -8

Sorry mate, New drone deal standards have been setup. Not easy to bite anything over 300

    • +1

What's with all the neg's? It's obviously sarcasm which is very much part of the Oz vernacular.

  • +5

$75 bucks cheaper at OW via PM.

    • +1

      How do I private message!?!1!

  • +16

Who else is waiting for JB Hi-Fi to bring the price down to $298, GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT JB!

    • +3

      You tell em son

  • +42

Do they accept Bunnings gift cards?

  • "This is not the drone you're looking for"

Decent price but might wait until the replacement is announced

    • +1

"this is not the drone I'm looking for".

    • +1

Announced? The Mavic 2 has been out for quite a while.

  • +3

Decent price but it's a bit too dated now… The new Mavic mini could be a good option for many

    • Mini is in a different class.

      • +1

I didn't say it's the same. I just said for many might be enough..

        • -1

I read it as Mac Mini. Here's me thinking the Mac Mini doesn't even have a camera…
Sure you could throw it to a friend for some fun in the sun.
          Different class though.

I hate seeing this thing, I feel like being spied on. Is there any bb gun, catapult or something to take this down?

  • +2

I think ebay has some good deals coming soon after the Bunnings pricing error haha

    • +1

      "Selling due to retail arbitrage"

      • +1

        "Unwanted gift"

  • 298 or go(fly) home. ;)

  • +1

Price beat at bunning then use the gift card =)

  • +2

Don't bother attempting to price beat at Bunnings. I tried. Store manager said, and I quote, 'if I hear anyone mention Mavic, or even think of the word Mavic, I'll shove one so far up their a$$ that it'll wink at them when they go to brush their teeth.' end quote.

  • Will they take a $250 Bunnings voucher as a down payment? :)

    • No

  • These drones would actually be worthwhile getting if the country wasn't riddled with nanny states. Condemn the masses just because of a few a…..holes out there.

    • Want some cheese with that whine

      • +1

Just the plain old facts mate….if you like being hobbled by bureaucrats, go for it, I don't.

        • +1

Why blame the bureaucrats? It's the a…holes what dunnit. I hate seeing idiots flying drones dangerously.

    • +1

We have a more relaxed flying area than the US, what are you talking about?

      • +1

new laws being introduced will put us on par or possibly worse then the US. mandatory licensing and registration due next year.

        • 250gram license free from memory.

        • -2

          "worse then"

Don't make yourself look like an idiot. The word you're looking for is "thAn".

        • meh does anyone enforce it? its not like australia was a small country so as long as you are flying sensibly. Browsing through some rubbish i read that these drone laws are costly, full of grey areas, and not/barely enforced… its just some electoral wind

      • +1

If yo are following the letter of the law, then no, we don't. But hey, you go ahead and try it out. You might get lucky for awhile.

  • Would it be better to buy the drone now or should i wait til the black friday sales near xmas? Not sure what to do :(

    • I’d also like to know this.

      • I dont recall DJI (chinese) ever doing black friday stuff

But if you have an EDU email you can get 10% off any time.

        • They did in 2018. Sent an email to their subscribers.

"Not as good as 298 but hey you save $400 on this!"

    1. that was a different model. this is the original, the 298 was for the mavic2 zoom
    2. it was a pricing error and no one got it.
      1. Not as good as $298 for a drone not implying the price for the same drone but still a really good drone for a decent price.
      2. Some people DID get the drone as Bunnings fulfilled few orders and many others were given a Bunnings $250 gift card.
      • I had a Spark but sold it as it was slow, 1080p, short flight time and didn't have collusion sensor. I'm now considering getting the Mavic Air or the rumoured Mavic Mini, as the higher price would def justify Spark's shortcomings. Mavic Pro is obviously better.

  • Anybody have a spark? These are obviously better but are they 2-3 times better to justify the price difference?

  • +2
    • Amazon have an ozbargain spy, as soon as there is a deal they price match it

  • Before you go out and buy a drone, make sure you understand the local and state regulations of drone flight. The biggest pitfall to flying a drone is the restricted airspaces, and places you can and cannot fly.

If you somehow manage to enter a safe airspace to fly, you then have to adhere to the regulations. Basically 90% of the shots in the DJI promo is illegal here in Australia.

Definitely made me think twice. Of course, there are speed limits, and some of us choose to speed. But the fines for getting caught breaking the rules of drone flight could land you with a $1,000+ fine.

    • +1

Agreed. These are not worth it for almost anyone. You can't even fly em in National parks with no sign of human life.

      • Yep. Bought my Phantom 3 Advanced in 2016 and still flying it, but only very infrequent now due to all the new rules and restriction. So hard to find out where about we are legally allowed to fly even with that Where Can I Fly? app. You have to pick those locations away from those big red circles (airports) and then you find out those locations are also in either residential areas or impossible to access areas.
