    Thanks locked in
How weird, U95 is at 1.85 at the same location !

      • +14

Because right now, it's cheaper than u95

      • +16

        Imagine being this dumb

        • -8

Lol imagine being dumb enough to belive my comment was recomending spending more for 95ron. I was just saying 98 doesnt mean its premium fuel.

          Have a nice day.

      • +1

        Is that you Ron Burgundy?

    • +2

This station does not offer U95. U98 price is low because they are out of UL91

  • I locked in a higher price just a few minutes ago, damn.
(I know, the trick is to deliberately use the lock with only a small amount in order to lock in the newer price.)

    • +1

      Clever bloke

    • Can you please explain this a bit more. I just signed up. Cheers.

      • +1

Go to nearest 7 eleven, fill up the minimum fuel by that servo using current locked price and then lock again.

        • If I lock in a low price for 10 litres and then fill my car up from empty to full, will I receive the low price for 10L only or the whole full tank (e.g. 60L)?

        • I thought you could just walk in and ask then they can remove the lock for you… Never tried it though

        • If I locked in 50 litters for example and I only filled 40 litters, am i only be charged for 40 litters, is that correct?

          • @T-man: only pay what ever you filled.. lock means you have right to pay in that price up to 50 Litters

            • @g0dskitchen: Thanks, I am new to this game, just locked price today

Just one more question. Do I need to top up the account for the balance or just $10 to have some credit and lock whatever I want?

              • @T-man: welcome to the game, enjoying the saving.
i use vouchers /gift cards for 4 of my accounts (i put $100 for each of my account).. i find it's the easiest to do . what ever you top in. you can lock in that amount of fuel

                • @g0dskitchen: The reason I don’t want to top up the account because I want to pay using my Amex card, earn more points, but Amex is not accepted in the app.

                  • @T-man: you can pay amex at the counter.. lock it, and show the lockscreen at the counter. you can pay with cash/your amex card at the counter just like how you normally pay… you can use your amex card to buy $100 gift card to lock the price if you don't want to use your credit card (or amex not accpeted by the app)

      • You need to use the existing locked price to allow relocating. Minimum 2L I believe. Otherwise you have to wait for the lock to expire after 7 days.

        • Never tried this.
Will the shop attendant gave you a weird look?

          • +1

            @OzBestDeal:

Will the shop attendant gave you a weird look?

            so what?

            • +2

@D6C1: I just don't like people gave me weird look

              • +1

@OzBestDeal: Yeah but still. You are saving money. I have filled up less than 2L before just because. They can't FORCE you to fill up a minimum.

                • +3

@D6C1: "you must fill the minimum 2L delivery" inb4 Zoolander petrol station scene…

                    @ATangk: Nah I only got a dolla

          • @OzBestDeal: if you wink several times at them while talking….yes

        • +3

Just fuelled up 2 litres and the attendant was fine.
YMMV. I guess if you have a jerrycan it would look less suspicious to get a small amount.

          • @Sage: Great idea. Never thought about this before.

    • Perhaps log back in with a different email and lock it in there?

  • locked. thanks

  • Locked. Thank you.

  • +11

BRB, flying my high-yield investment private jet over there.

    • +2

Don't make the mistake I made by flying to Brisbane airport, just lock it in as you fly over the petrol station

    • Thanks, locked 10000Lt for my private jet.

  • Thank you! Great price.

  • +9

Ha! The first price lock I am actually able to lock without fake gps

    • Feels good ay?

    • +3

Same here! But then again you are located behind me. see location

    • Which app do you use? Thanks

  • +1

Anyone wants to tag along on a helicopter ride??

    • Hell Yeah!

  • Thanks

  • Locked, thanks OP!

  • Darn, am in bus and cant lock in that site.

Meanwhile in Sydney it's $1.90 plus per little…I wonder what is the excuse this time.

    • It's similar price everywhere else in QLD too. This is one of the last servo's at the bottom of the cycle.

    • It was $1.56 at 7-11 Paddington yesterday. But yes close to $1.80 at most other pumps

    Coordinates 27.5553° S, 153.0797° E

Always helpful to include in the OP if possible

    Thanks OP!

    • +1

      Added. Thanks

  • LOCKED! thanks OP. In the redlands, all 7/11 around the $1.90s

  • +1

Wow my first legit 7/11 lock in

    • Ha, never had one myself before. Never mind, the gift that keeps on giving.

  • Can you fill you car with what you need and then lock in an equal amount or do you need to lock in first then start pumping?
The whole system seems a bit arse backwards to me, could be much simpler to just lock in a price and present the app at the counter like a discount card.

    • If you’re at the servo, no need to use lock in voucher. Just fill up as usual and then lock in for future purposes.

    • You need to load up your account with $$ that will determine the amount of litres you can lock in.

Lock it in via app, fill up, then go to counter to pay. Hand them your barcode on your phone then pay by cash or credit card.

You can pay by your app credit but that means you have to recharge your app with money each time you do a lock.

      • I understand the process, it just makes little sense to me. If we can still pay via card then why do we need to load an account with any amount of money? Why not just treat it as if it were a discount card to be scanned in store. If we pay via card then what happens to the money that we loaded up?
Also not sure why I got a neg for asking what I see are legitimate questions as someone who has never used this before (not implying you gave the neg)

        • +2

Because it's a smart business move by them to make you commit with some funds.
I certainly can see why they've done it, don't blame them either. It also makes the customer feel the need to keep using them if you've got funds in the account anyway.

In return we get 7 days to use a cheap lock.

          • +1

@unco: I've saved the $70 I have on my app more than ten times over thanks to locking in good deals. Small price to pay.

        • +2

So they always have a constant chunk of money in the bank earning interest etc

    How does one spoof this?

    • -3

      Nox on PC

    • -2

Yeah I tried with Fake GPS and moving in/out of the apps but no luck.

Can't use Nox as I'm at work literally 10 minutes away from that location aswell! They need to make the local range a bit bigger, it's giving me my cheapest in Woodridge which is just as far away..

      • +1

I believe it's just the five closest servos to your location. So you wouldn't have to go far for the Wishart location to be amongst those.

    • For Android I use Mocklation and the modded app.
Probably the easiest method, as you can paste in the location name.

      • Thanks dude

      • Mocklation has stopped working for me recently, can't search/add any new locations.

  • +1

Thanks man, another shocking price for my local 7/11 :)

  • Thank you

  • Is there a way to fake location using ios?

    • I’d like to know this too if anyone can PM me! Would be appreciated

    • Not that I’m aware of unless it’s jail broken

    • That’s why I couldn’t lock in the price while on the bus. Was thinking….sweet…will fill up later tonight.

    • +1

One way of getting around it is just get a cheap Android phone, a colleague got this, sure it's a little slow, but it does the job and he can now lock in without leaving ios.

    • +1

Yes you can but you need a computer loaded with iTunes. Our master 131 coded a program called ifakelocation you can check it in the forum

    • I’m an iOS developer and I know that there’s a developer feature that allows you to do that if you have a Mac and Xcode. You can do the trick easily. It took me time because it was my first setup, next ones I shall setup in less than 2 minutes.

      • +3

Ok because I love this community so much I put something together to help iPhone users to be able to easily change GPS location on their devices in order to use this deal. I'll try and come back to it later today to add more steps. One thing that is missing is a helper on how get you certified to run the app in your device. Google and you can find a couple of tutorials ;-)

        https://github.com/vitorll/GPSFuelApp

        • I need to have a Mac for this. I'm a PC

        • I tried this but I'm getting errors in Xcode that read:

Failed to register bundle identifier. The app identifier "com.ozbargain.GPSFuelApp" cannot be registered to your development team. Change your bundle identifier to a unique string to try again.

No profiles for 'com.ozbargain.GPSFuelApp' were found: Xcode couldn't find any iOS App Development provisioning profiles matching 'com.ozbargain.GPSFuelApp'.

          Any ideas?

          • @rollsroy: Hey! did you follow the steps in the link inside the requirements? take a look at the Readme on the github page.

            • @Vitorll: Yep, followed exactly

              • @rollsroy: Will take a look, sorry for the delay. If we miss this o e we will definitely be able to get the next 😉

  • Any failed to top up their 7-11 account/card? I cannot top mine up on either Nox nor my mobile phone (non-root, everything up to date).

    • My credit card won't work anymore, have to use 7/11 gift cards… Which isn't very convenient, but works

      • +1

Just register a new account and use a new credit card. Worked for me when the deemed me high risk and blocked my account from taking cc payments

        • +1

Yeah same here! My credit card expired and i had forgotten to update it.I tried topping up and failed.
It then failed even on my new card.

Contacted 7-11 customer service and was advised that their third party payment processor has deemed me as high risk and i need to use gift card to top up.
I went to one 7-11 where the guy looked at me weirdly when i asked for a 7-11 gift card.
Went to another one which had a 7-11 gift card but couldnt activate it at the till.

I gave up and created another account and used it with a totally different credit card.

          Bunch of morons!!

          • @techno2000: You don't have to pay using 7-Eleven app balance though. You can just keep a minimum balance (based on how much you need to fill petrol tank) and always pay by credit card. That way you won't have to top up the app amount in future.

      • You don't have to spend the money on the account… Just load it up once and pay instore using your normal CC to get points/cashback or whatever else. Leaving $100 in the 7-11 account is much more beneficial than $100 in a savings account or even a credit card account if you use it just once.

        • +2

Can confirm, I just leave $60 bucks in there. Savings from this has far more "returns" than having sit in a savings account

          • @51OL: I need $120 to lock in enough fuel :'(

            • @ATangk: What car do you drive?

              • @crunch: Sold the r350 but even commercial vans have around 80L tanks, and diesel around $1.4 is almost $120
