Easily overclocked to 3600 (the sweet spot for AMD) or higher. I got these last week in red for $128. Good price for $114.

    • Yep I got my on at 3400 and tried to push 3600 but was afraid of the high voltage.

      • Apparently the higher voltage is no problem at all long term. I clocked mine when I got it last week and it's great. No issues.

        • How much voltage is it your at the moment? I'm actually using at 3200mhz since most of my usage is on Autocad and Revit.

      Three things:

      • If you really want to go DDR4-3600, you most likely have to bump up the voltage. To me, that doesn't equate to "easily" overclocked to 3600. Don't get me wrong, these are great value for money and can be overclocked.
      • If you go 4 DIMMs on Ryzen setup, Command Rate needs to be set to 2T. If you want fastest memory timings on Ryzen, best to stick with 2 DIMMs.
      • Although Hardware Unboxed Steve's video is helpful, it is not the most ideal way. You are better off doing a full export using Thaiphoon Burner and feed that into DRAM calculator. It's not very straightforward so I can understand why Steve told people to note down the values. However, I do find proper export from Thaiphoon Burner into DRAM calculator provides an accurate result and removes the guesswork.
      • Wow. Where I can find it? Might try it in the future.

Follow the steps of the first post. Some steps have links to the relevant screenshot. Have a look if you are stuck. It's nice that Steve made that video, but most people will often pick the wrong values so you end up with over aggressive results (which your PC won't boot). Wish Steve would make a new one with all of the steps.

          • @netsurfer: i read somewhere that can't rely dram calculator with micron-e

            • @dcep: It's an overkill for most people and the recommended values can be aggressive (for me anyway). While the settings provided do work for me (through the full export, not manually enter values), I've elected to use more conservative settings (just mild overclock). My Ryzen setup isn't really for gaming anyway.

For most people, just use the presets in your BIOS. Don't over push it. But if you must go 4 DIMMs, you have to lower your expectation (for a Ryzen based system).

Micron E are good value for money, but best not to overhype them.

          • @netsurfer: Thanks Mate I appreciate you input

      • So… what would be the best RAM on Ryzen 3 to get 3600 or 3733?

  • Can anyone tell if 32gb kit is also worth buying now?

    • For a Ryzen based system? If you opted for the 2x16 kit, as the modules are double sided, you will need to treat it as 4 DIMMs to be safe. So, if you are okay with 2T (command rate), and potentially slower timings (if you intend to overclock), you should be okay.

      • As someone who is looking at upgrading to a Ryzen 5 3600 in the future, I am curious as to which would be a better 32Gb memory configuration: 2 x 16GB, or 4 x 8GB. The general consensus from what I have been reading seems to be that 2 x 16Gb is preferred. I would be very happy to overclock to 3600mhz @ CL16. Probably looking at a B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard.

        • Have you considered just buying 3600 if you're wanting 32gb? GSkill trident aren't too expensive. I only wanted 16gb as it's considered the sweet spot for gaming.

          • @[Deactivated]: Do yoou have any link on the product? I'm using 24GB atm (I know I know but had to do it..) so 16GB might not be work for me…

      • Not sure if Ryzen is more clock favorable or sensitive with timing. Ideally we want higher frequency with low timing but we all know that is hard to achieve…

  • Grabbed a set, couldn't resist the cashback offer.

Looking forward to the 8GB to 16GB upgrade, and it's a good time to sell my old set while it still has moderate value.

  • Is it saying 2400m/t for anyone else when checking out. I did select 3200 m/t in the drop down box.
