Can anyone recommend a store in VIC for Badminton Racquets? Only play for Leisure.

    • +1

any cheap ones will do if only for leisure, otherwise you'd know where to buy better ones

      • +7

Or instead of sounding Elitist, you could just have typed in where is good, instead of all that.

        • for leisure only, just pop into a sport store and buy the cheaper one.
if you're into the game, then it depend where do you live…

          • +3

            @Jamesx: switching on elitist mode
on the contrary, if you're into the game, you'd actually go to length to get the specific one you're aftering.

it was abit of a travelling all the way to Akihabara's Concept store, but nothing was going to stop me from getting my Arc10 red JP-coded.

            switching off elitist mode

@woodenspoon: i think what OP said below about getting a graphite one but an entry level for now is a good recommendation. a nice enough to have a good experience (and possibly develop a liking for the sport) but at moderate entry price point. good luck and i hope you have fun!

        • If you say you just need a cheap pot, do I need to tell you to got The Kmart in the CBD on certain street?

          • @Jamesx: sure, because there's just as many sports shop that carrying badminton equipment when compared to the amount of Kmart stores around.

I go to badmintonclick in north melbourne. They have an online store but they generally have better pricing or offer free strings/stringing/grip when you go in store.

    • Found this cheap Yonex Entry Level Racquet for $23.49 from OzGameShop, should do the trick.

If your around Mount Waverley area, I heard tension24 is a good place to go.

      • Always pass by this shop. Dunno how prices compare to stadium sports

        • stadium sports best price by far and quick delivery. Especially when bundled with 20% discount on ebay

    • +1

Stadium Sports is my long term badminton racquets supplier, they have ebay store too, wide range of products amateur to advance, very well look after customer services as well. Ive been with them over 10 years easily. They have stores in Melbourne, Sydney.

I would suggest something at least full graphite, even balance. don't go too heavy or too light. Yonex Arcsaber Lite or Nanoray 10F, those are entry level graphite racquet. althrough they might cost you a bit extra, consider a good racquet would last you many years you will appreciate the quality.

  • are these AS-coded?

edit: ignore, just click the deal link and noted it is Australian stock. so yes, AS-coded.

follow-up question: do deliveries to Perth, WA?

    • sorry its in store only.

  • The deal link says, customer needs to buy stringing service. How much it will cost? Any idea?

    • +1

EZBOX String team has been working on many Internation tournaments, we are very popular destination in term of stringing service hear in Sydney.
we carry full catelog of Yonex/Li Ning string, Service cost is capped $25-$29 including String and Labor.

Sometimes can ask around at local court. From word of mouth Found a guy who does it at my local badminton court @Altona

  • $20-$25.
    I often go here https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Badminton/106460/m.html?item=301…
Free wide range strings to chose from and string service, free grip as well when you purchase a racquet around $100 up. They run 20% off quite often.
