Bing Lee and other resellers often have the Home version for only a few dollars more. This one is for one user/device, whereas Home is for up to 5 devices.

    • This is 1 user, not 1 device. You can stay signed in on up to 5 devices.

        From Microsoft's website:

Q: What’s the difference between Office 365 Home and Office 365 Personal?
A: Office 365 Personal is for people who want Office on 1 PC or Mac, 1 tablet, and 1 smartphone. With Office 365 Home, you can share your subscription with up to four members of your household. Each household member can then use any of your available installs on their PCs, Macs, tablets, and smartphones. They’ll also each get an additional 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage, and 60 Skype calling minutes per month.

          • @SydEP: Good pick-up. That's one hell of a contradiction between pages on their website.

            • @sghetti: It is strange. I wonder if it's just poorly written - "1 PC or Mac, 1 tablet, and 1 smartphone". Potentially have to sign out if you plan to use it on both mac and PC, otherwise it should work across 5 devices.

@SydEP: Based on this, it looks like it changed in the last year. Both Home and Personal can be installed on an unlimited amount of devices.

I think it's worth noting that for another couple of dollars for the year, you can share between accounts. So if other devices are used by other people, you don't need to be giving them access to your microsoft account within these services.

  • I wouldn't refer to the Myer deal for comparison either, they cancelled/refunded the orders. It was never really available.

    • Good point.
