Whirlpool 60cm Pyrolytic Oven (Model # AKZ9635IXAUS) $588 (C&C Only) @ The Good Guys

560

Whirlpool Pyrolytic Oven (Model # AKZ9635IXAUS) reduced to $588 @ The Goodguys.
Picked up one of these for a new house build yesterday.
Goodguys staff said they are clearing stock at the mo, however there still seems to be a few in stock & ex-display models available.
I’d suggest calling your local store to double check as I picked up a new (still boxed/wrapped) one at the Qld Browns Plains store even though the website was stating they had none.
Same oven at Appliances online = $1180, https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/whirlpool-60cm-e….
Note: free extended warranty option also available via the Whirlpool website: https://whirlpool.com.au/promotions/

  • Love my pyro. Can smash multiple pork crackles without the worry of hand cleaning that crap which inevitably sprays out.

These were all half price few months ago. So might happen again

  • Got one of these when they were half price last sale just $419. Haven't used it a lot but so far so good it's a nice oven and easy to use

Thanks OP for the comments about the extended warranty. I didn't know about this. Can anyone comment if the ones sold by TGG earlier in the year are eligible for this too?

    • I also want to know this and am going to give it a go, just in case the answer is yes.

Pyrolytic sounds like a disease. Must be good!

  • Got the cheaper one for $439.20 on the weekend with the 10% off VIP code. ShopBack brought it down to about $429

  • what happened to the whirlpool brand anyway?

  • yep I got one when it was cheaper, its actually annoying to use, we use the air fryer so much more lol

    • Why is it annoying?

      • takes longer than my old oven (as its digital lol) too many functions

        • which model did you get, as i got the model slightly up and it works just as quick as our old AEG oven

        • Its only slower if you using the probe

  • Great oven especially for price, we have the model above this that has the temp probe which is great for doing roasts

  • How much does it cost to install one at home? I have never purchased a oven so asking.

    • I had a cooktop installed by someone recommended by HN. $200 RIP off.

    • Get a local sparky to install rather than someone recommended to you in store.

HN receommended someone to install oven and gas cooktop at $380.

Local sparky did oven for $100, and plumber did gas cooktop for $180 including some parts.

didn't you already have a existing power supply?

        • Yes, however the pyrolitic oven we bought was much longer in depth, as such we had to remove power point, put a junction box in and push back through the wall. The oven was fouling on the power point.

For the gas cooktop, well thats gas so had to get a licensed plumber to install (even though they didnt tighten something well enough and had the place smelling of gas and had to get them back hahah)

          • @TheGiant: $100 was a great price. most won't come for small job like that

          • @TheGiant: Did he forget to test it with his lighter?

    • I bought one in the last goodguys clearout. Comes with a 15A mains plug, so if your current oven plugs in and has a 15A socket (larger earth pin), you can easily do it yourself. Otherwise needs a sparky.

Then it's usually just a case of sliding it in and a couple of screws (supplied) at the front to hold it place. You might need some shims to make it sit nicely.

      • Agree it really is easy as to do yourself if everything is pure like for like.

However, just check what the oven comes with. Ours had nothing plug/lead wise, so had to take off the old one and wire into the new one, sort of glad I did get the sparky in the end

      • …. And do it yourself might violate your home insurance policy?

        • +1

If it comes with a plug already attached then it's just swapping out an appliance. No sparky required - same as if you bought a new fridge and plugged that in.

          • @daanish: older ones they are hardwired to the unit, as you said it maybe just plugging back in the new unit.

      • hardly any ovens are plugged in, there is usually not enough space behind them

Anyone got a copy of the extended warranty PDF, pretty please? Seems they've taken that original one down and replaced with one that narrows the scope to just Laundry, Dishwashing and Refrigeration products…

    • +2

Same! Be grateful if someone could upload a copy

      Thirded!

Answering my own question — https://ibin.co/52cgN0LOP0uD.png

Reproduced care of the "new" PDF and the wording of the old one from Google Cache.

Fill it out, send it in and they'll send you an extremely generic "certificate" which jsut says "Your warranty period 2 years + a bonus 3 years".

Sounds good if these ovens might see their glass doors explode.

Another one here for the original extended warranty leaflet please. Got the oven today and was going to the site and found nothing.

    • See above for the warranty form ^_^

Thanks OP managed to grab the last one at my local store for $530.

Hoping someone can still come through with the original whirlpool warranty extension promo, failing that I'll call up whirlpool and play dumb
