  • This is not a recharge its a brand new SIM with $300 credit if you want to take advantage as an existing customer you would have to port out and port back in. With so many issues atm you probably don't wanna do that

  • I'm currently on Telstra post paid and just finished contract so bought this. Says new customers only, am I still considered "new" if currently with Telstra or do I have to get a cheap Sim outside Telstra network in-between the change to boost.

    • Best port out to non Telstra Network and then back.

    Ordered Sim on 29/10
Received Sim (Adelaide Metro) 31/10: expiry date of 2021-09-04
    Started port at ~20:30 31/10
    Port complete at ~20:45 31/10

Quick, easy and inexpensive. Thanks TA.

  • CIS makes no mention of it anywhere that I can see but do Boost handle data in 1KB or 1MB increments?

    • +2

It’s calculated in KB not rounded up
      To the next MB

      Ported successful on 11.06am.

    • Were you on a plan with Optus? Do you know whether you have to give 30 days notice? I am finding conflicting information on the interwebs.

      • yes. I'm with a postpaid plan with optus. Contract finished.

I've still got 2 months on my contract, if I buy this now, can I activate it later?

EDIT: nevermind, found the answer in other comments lol

can I port from Telstra to Boost?

    • I would also like to know!

    • I did port from Telstra to Boost a few years ago. They are separate business but same company.

    • U have to call boost and they will send U a blank Sim. That's what I'm waiting on anyway.

  • How do you buy this in store?

    • +1

      You don’t.

  • Ordered online a few hours ago and paid via PayPal however there was no confirmation of order and it just looped back to checkout screen.

Payment is pending in my account but haven’t received any email confirmation.

Did this happen to anyone else? What did you do?

    • As said before, its their poor web design. After it loops back to checkout screen, you have to again proceed and then it will do it………

Ordered this sim. Took nearly 2 weeks to arrive though. Boost needed to contact me a couple of times to confirm my order and shipping address which was a PO Box, they called me a few times. Don’t know why it took so long, everyone else’s sim was delivered quickly.

Anyways, great value and the reception and speeds are faster than Vodafone in my area (Penrith/Blacktown region). It’s also way better than Optus. Telstra>Vodafone>Optus.

Had issues with porting though. I waited 2 whole business days after I activated the sim online but the port still wasn’t finished.

Decided to contact Boost via live chat on their website to see what was going on and less than 20 minutes later I was ported to Boost from Vodafone.

They manually ported me over because “some details couldn’t be matched up which prevented the port”. I entered everything correctly the first time and gave the Boost live chat person the same information I used to activate the sim online. So not sure what went wrong, database/system error?

If you haven’t been ported within the first day I’d say to just contact Boost and have them do the porting for you on the spot.

They won’t contact you to let you know if there’s issues with your number porting, so if you don’t contact them yourself, you’ll be waiting a very long time.

Other than the porting issue and long delivery time (which was solved quickly once I contacted Boost) no issues at all.
