Thanks mate! - will update this in the post

  • You can buy the Lefmo Y8 (which I'm sure will be the same thing) from eBay shipped from Sydney for $35, or if you can wait, from AliX for about $25 (probably cheaper during their 11.11 sales).

But the recharge is nice. Worth clarifying that it's only on the Epic Data plans, not any of their other pre-paid plans.

Updated the post with more info from holdenmg

  • So the Sims that come with the phone are marked so that we automatically get the bonus?

    • I believe the Optus system would identify the sims and offer the promo at the time of activation - but best to probably double check with an Optus rep to confirm.

  • Fb ads for Optus suggest that this promo may not be Target specific

  • Optus X Power is ZTE A6 Max , but only 1GB of RAM, so forget it. Will be dead slow after you connect to internet and it auto-updates.

X view is an Alcatel with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, Android 8.1, so functional.

X Vista is a ZTE, also 2+16GB, but with Andoid 9.0 Pie. Better but still meh.

The Oppo is good, but by now you are spending $259. I'd rather spend that on a nice imported unlocked phone and Belong starter pack.

why not just buy the cheapest device with the included sim and use the sim in your own device? cheapest one essentially is a free sim/phone

  • Is the $30 recharge included in the package or we need to do it on Optus website after activating the SIM?

  • According to Optus this promo doesn't exist… The link in the ad from Target doesn't work and Optus chat claims there's not such promo and keeps referring to a Samsung promo that ended a month ago.

Does anyone have any more marketing material in regards to this promo?

      It’s advertised here.
Further details at individual product links e.g.

Note: Y8 Smart Watch is only redeemable with the purchase of: OPPO AX5s, Optus X Vista, Optus X Wave, Optus X Power 2, Optus X View or $99 4G WiFi modem (50GB).

  • Was about to post with without the smart watch offer, this is a much better one. Coles has the same deal going till 31/03/20.

  • so if that's $229 for the Oppo Ax5 and smartwatch - how much the Oppo Ax5 outright or smartwatch cost by itself? how much are you really saving?
