Found a few games and apps on the Paid Apps Gone Free (PAGF) app. This stood out. 4.0 stars. Favourable reviews. I forgot to check the expiry before I snavelled it.

  I got this: "Your device isn't compatible with this version".
  Is it designed for old android versions?

    I installed the VR version on my S9+ running 9.0. Also, the standard version is compatible with my tablet running 6.0. Did you try both versions? The VR version needs Daydream.

      I've got 9 on my phone too and was unable to install.
      Was able to install the standard one (non VR).

    Pretty sure you can request a refund if it was very recent? Then just download it for free again.

    Usually it's fairly instant.

    Depends if you're bothered or feel it's bad on the devs.. :P
