    Fetch Mighty $224.10 / Fetch Mini $94.05

    Good deal for dogs…

Finally bought this. Goodbye Foxtel. Thanks

  • The best thing about this box was being able to watch Optus Sports but it used to only be available on boxes sourced direct from Optus. Not sure if that has changed.

    • Retail boxes have Optus sports. Cannot subscribe directly through fetch but if you have an account you can log in and watch :)

  • Bought a refurb Mighty a year or so ago, absolutely no issues so far.

Paying Optus $15 per month for it is a rip off.

    • Bought this for $400 3 years ago when signing up to iinet with no extra fees. It is iinet branded, but wondering if I quit whether it can still work?

Otherwise might have to buy one of these.

This thing is old alright. I'm hoping there will be new version soon. Faster processing and bigger drive, google assistant, some games perhaps.

  • If I get both and have the mighty in a room with an aerial, can the mini "piggyback" off that to get FTA in a room with no aerial?

        See below comment :)

Yes. As long as your mighty is connected to an aerial, and your mini is connected to your mighty in the same household, your Mini can stream from your mighty with no 15 minutes limit (for pause/rewind/FF).

You may get a small delay between switching the channel. That's the only downside.

      • Cheers mate.

      • Awesome, thanks for that

      • Another question - is that $1 activation fee applicable to both the mighty and the mini?
Or if I activate the mighty then the mini just works off that?

No issue if it is both, just good to know….at some point the mini might be used elsewhere if someone moves out.

        • Sorry, even I myself am not sure. But I would expect it to be once off for the account, but if a separate account is used for the mini, it would incur the 1 dollar fee again. You can always contact support via the facebook page for a quick answer during the usual business hours :)

A single account can have up to 3 boxes on it, and by having them on one account, it enables them to multiroom together:

@kirt: Thanks for the info and link

  • Hi OP, can Fetch Mini record show with plug in HDD/USB flash drive?

    • No it cannot. Plugged in devices can be played, but cannot be used to record.

      • And (correct me if I'm wrong), if you have a Fetch Mighty, anything that is recorded/stored on that one can be viewed on any connected Fetch Mini.

        • +2

          That's correct.

With a PC/Mac as well with the use of DLNA, you can watch recordings from your Fetch TV Mighty but only for non-encrypted channels (FTA), their streaming channels cannot be watched.

  • I bought my Fetch Mighty from this eBay site about 2 years ago, and I'm really happy with the purchase.
I am convinced that my Fetch Mighty Box had never been used. Not a single scratch, and smelled brand new etc.
Go to the Fetch website pay $1(one off)activation fee and you're ready to go. You can also pay $1 per month for "Movie Box" you get
30 pre-selected movies available on demand 1 new movie added every day. BTW have a look at the eBay ratings for this device.
4.9 stars***** and 116 ratings, you just don't see that for any product rating on eBay!!

  • I just tried to buy a Fetch Mighty using the PATPAT code above but the code would not work on my account. I have had these promo code failures before so I complained via EBay chat but they were adamant this item did not qualify for the code. However, while I was chatting with them, I bought it successfully on a friend's account using the PATPAT code.
I told the Ebay chat person/robot this and they wanted to see a screenshot of the order. I wanted an assurance they would not cancel the order before I did this. However, the person/robot was a bit thick and kept thinking I actually wanted the order cancelled, so I left it at that.

    • .
      should have used PINS10 for the Mighty it's 10% …..that's what I did :)

      • +1

PATPAT got me $224.10 on my friend's account. For some reason PINS10 was only giving about a 5% discount on that account.
Or maybe I am confused about what code I finally used.

  • Thanks OP - grabbed one - wondering if I should get a Mini too (what does it give me that I couldn't do from a DNLA client in another TV connecting to the DNLA server on the Mighty)?

Also - how good an Aerial would I likely need for this (our house has no outdoor antenna at all - so we'd just be using an indoor antenna)?

    • +1

Mini is more of a companion device to the Mighty. If you make purchases through the Fetch store it's easy to watch it in a different room with the mini. If your mini is not connected to the aerial, you can stream the FTA channels from the mighty (that is connected to the aerial). You can watch your recordings from your mighty on your mini (much less troublesome this way). These are the things i can think of on the top of my head.

Not too sure about indoor aerial as I have no experience with that, sorry.

Thank you for your great post. I've had FetchTV for two years with Internode. I'm sick of paying the monthly fee. I did some reading up online and I'm going to connect straight through to Fetch. Thanks again for the post

  • I already fetch mighty and subscription, if I buy fetch mini can I use it a multi-room without paying monthly fee to optus?

    • No. If you have a mighty through Optus, you can only use the Optus Mini. These are Fetch Retail boxes, meaning they're not locked.
